Hello everyone! I'm back with another Blog Blitz project and this time I'm using the beautiful Peace on Earth Channel die. I've always loved that sentiment and it's one of my favorite to use for my holiday cards. To create this peaceful scene, I used the Alpine Neighborhood die along with the coordinating Alpine Roofs and Background dies.
I started off my die cutting my sentiment and the houses (this is all one die, btw) into an A2 panel. Then I die cut the house backgrounds and blended some ink over them. These backgrounds fit perfectly behind each house, so you can customize what you see inside the windows.
To create the sky, I took my die cut A2 panel and blended dark blue and black inks just over the houses. To me, blended ink always looks better than plain colored card stock. I let the ink dry a bit and then moved on to creating the stars with a bit of translucent embossing paste and silver glitter. Here's a tip, use an embossing buddy over the spots where you do not want glitter. I mostly use the embossing buddy when I'm using embossing powder, but it works for powders and glitters. To really get a glittery look, I mixed the glitter into the embossing paste before I stenciled and I also sprinkled glitter on top after I stenciled. The stencil I used is called Stars Shimmer.
Here's a close up of the extra glittery stars! I love how shiny they are and how they pop off the card. You can also see how I added a bit of glitter behind the die cut sentiment as well.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are enjoying all the wonderful Blog Blitz inspiration!
