Thank You
Sue here with a tag/card project using dies from the new release with a few older dies.
I started off by cutting out two Main Street Tags, one from white card stock and one from vellum. I used Distress Inks in Fresh Citron and Mermaid Lagoon to colour the card stock tag and gave it a quick spritz with Perfect Pearls. The vellum tag was die cut with the Cottage Corner Die. I love how this die cuts and embosses all the wonderful floral details. I then layered the vellum tag on top of the inked one.
The sentiment was die cut from white card stock that I inked up with Mermaid Lagoon Ink and the butterfly was die cut from vellum. I finished off the tag with black gems and some bakers twine.
For the tag background I took black card stock and used Black Matte Embossing Paste with the Memory Box Texture Dot Grid Stencil. I thought this turned out fabulous. The matte paste is very subtle but adds wonderful texture to the card.

What a beautiful card! I love everything about it.
Sue, that's the genius idea to put an embossed vellum on top of a vibrant background! Just love how it turned out!
Your tag is beautiful. I love making tags, especially for Christmas gifts...I use a tag theme that goes along with the gift inside the package. So fun.
Oh my goodness - what a beautiful creation made with a super awesome combination of some of the stellar Poppystamp dies!! Love the details and gorgeousness of this card!!
This is just beautiful! Can't believe how muted the colors become with the vellum overlay. Thank you for the inspiration.
BEAUTIFUL tag, Sue! I just love this pretty color palette!

Tried stopping by your blog to post on there but this tag isn't showing up yet.
Wish comments on here showed up on your blog as I often forget to stop by.

Oh my that vellum overlay is so pretty on top of your background, lovely idea!
Gorgeous! That vellum layer is just fantastic!
Hi Sue, Been a while since I visited here. Was cleaning out some old links and checked yours to see if it was still valid! To my delight - it was. I love what you've done with the lovely vellum & embossing on this pretty tag. Looks just beautiful with the brilliant DI colors - muted a bit with the vellum - against that stark black background. TFS & Happy wkend.
