Sew What's New?

01-ButtonsI don't sew, so I wondered what I was thinking when I picked these fun button dies.  I do use buttons on cards, and sometimes it bothers me that they stick out so far and add to the postage.  When Poppystamps introduced the button dies, I thought what a great idea and there are several sizes, and shapes, titched, scalloped and plain.  The fact that a lot of the work is done for you if you die cut the Button Oval and Contour Button Border and then simply add more buttons over the top.  Easy!

I think I must have been thinking about my vacation and the 4th of July when I created this card.  I think the three colors really make this card pop.  I placed everything on an embossed background, which was then layered onto the white base.  The needle was a fun addition.  It's a yarn needle and I took two pieces of  embroidery thread, rubbed them with white glue and spun them together.  I like it. The sentiment was created on my computer.  I placed the oval die over it and cut using my Big Shot. it fits perfectly inside the oval.  Good idea?  I think so.

Now on to the inside.  Pretty plain, but pretty and there's room to write the perfect note.

I hope you've enjoyed this little card.  I surely enjoyed creating it and I've got to say, sew or not, I do like these sweet button dies.

Until next time.....
