This card feels just like fall, doesn't it? It was a few days after Christmas, and as I drove past my neighbor's horse ranch, I noticed all of the Christmas inflatables that were in his front yard had been put away. In their place was this beautiful old farm cart. It had a few hay bales and pumpkins on it, and I immediately thought of the amazing Rustic Wagon! His cart was an exact match!
Here in the deep South, without snow and ice, once Christmas is packed up it feels just like fall again. The grassy fields are awash in color - -yellows, browns, and a few dark reds. Children in sweatshirts race across the yard, and the dog is close behind. Mockingbirds and cardinals zip through the branches outside the window. New buds and shoots will be here in a blink of an eye! Until then, it will feel like fall.
The Rustic Wagon is a beautifully detailed die that I didn't get a chance to use very often this fall, so I think my creative muse sent me a sign when I saw my neighbor's cart! The woodgrain of the planks and the delicate spokes really bring ths card to life! I added a few Lovely Tendrils, some colorful Gourds and Pumpkins, and even a juicy MacIntosh from An Apple A Day. It looks like the rancher's Baby Kittens have come out to enjoy a little sunshine under these bright blue skies . . . of January!
Live your life in color!
