Joyful Christmas Village

IMG_1078-wm

It's a colorful little Christmas in the village! I had SOOOO much fun creating this card! It's been a while since I've made a fun card with a lot of die cuts, so this Christmas village scene gave me a great opportunity to spend some time in the craft room!

This card began with a standard 7 in. wide by 5 in. tall white card stock card base. Then I added a smaller panel of the bright blue background. Then came two layers of "hills" that were adhered onto the base using pop dots, to give an illusion of dimension and perspective. Once the landscaping was complete, I added Brevilla Houses with glitter window panels, Christmas Baubles snowflakes, Pine Tree Border evergreens, a little Mini Picket Border fenceline, and a few more tall firs from the Evergreen Trees set! The little moon was made with a circle punch.

The string of lights above the rooftops were created by taking the first row of the Christmas Light Background and cutting it twice out of black glitter paper. The I cut it a third time with different colored squares of glitter paper placed over the light bulbs. I craefully trimmed off all the black bulbs, and then, using a craft tweezers, glued the different colors of lights into my hanging wire. There's no way Santa will miss THIS joyful little village!

Have a joyful and colorful holiday season!

Live your life in color!
