Deck the Halls
Jeanne here today! I had so much fun making this little scene using so many different Poppystamps dies! I started with a stencil background. I wanted to create a flocked wallpaper look . I'm really happy with the two tone raised look I achieved with light molding paste. It was super easy too! Just tape your stencil to colored card stock, spread the paste evenly over the front, remove the stencil and give it a good wash, and set the paper to the side to dry.
When it was dry I attached it to my card base and layered on the Elegant Stair Frame. Now for the fun part! Decorating!! My little clock is the Evanston Bird House die, and the pendulum is a bitty tree from the Christmas Baubles Set.
The leafy garland is a perfect accent to the staircase (or fireplace, fence, cute cottage and more). I layered the ornaments from the Christmas Baubles and added gems for a little sparkle.
No home is complete without a little fur baby. This one is waiting for the clock to chime so he can get a better look at the cuckoo birdie! The little "rug" at the bottom of the steps is a word tag that I cut to size. It doubles as a fun little sentiment.
It was fun dressing up the scene with lots of embellishments like silver ric rac garland, adhesive pearls and gems!
Are you making lots of sparkly cards too? I hope you're playing along with our challenge! Just click on the tab at the top of this page to get all the details. It's a great way to win some prizes and see all the fun things you can make with your Poppy dies.
This is my last post for 2014 so I want to wish you all a blessed Christmas and a fabulous new year! See you in 2015!!
