It's that time of the year when we gather with our loved ones and give thanks for all our blessings. I wanted to capture the simple pleasures of the season with this unique holiday card. I cut the Thank You Background out of a pretty grey cardstock, adhered it to a piece of white card stock base, then inserted all the grey thanks and thank yous back into the card like a jigsaw puzzle. I cut just the center THANKS in a pale yellow and inserted it into the card.
To create the colorful leaves, I pulled out my favorite acrylic paints and swirled a few different color combinations onto a thick piece of card stock. The trick is to not blend them very well, but just get your brush full of paint and streak it across the paper. Let that dry overnight, then cut the leaves with the Maple Leaf Border and arrange them onto your card. You can add your adhesive just to the center of the leaf, and then after it dries, gently curl up the ends of the leaf to add dimension. I like how it looks like the leaves are falling off the tree. Add a tiny pumpkin and gourd trio and you have a pretty card with a great pop of autumn color!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving, an live your life in color!
