Starburst Maple Leaf
Hi! Jeanne here today! I've made a fall card featuring an inlaid starburst design. Color block patterns are a great way to add color and interest and use up some scraps too! You can use this technique with just about any shaped die.
To start, just cut some strips of paper 1" x 3", and then cut them corner to corner on a diagonal.
Line them up in an eye pleasing pattern. I used red, orange and yellow to compliment the maple leaf shaped die.
Secure them with some inexpensive tape. Don't worry - no one will see this side! Flip it over and look how beautiful your fan shape is!
Adhere your die cut image over the starburst and then trim off the excess.
Now you have a ready made embellishment or focal point for your card.
I rounded the corners and matted my starburst, then added some twine before I adhered it to my card base.
The starburst pattern is a really easy technique that just looks fussy. I hope you'll give this a try.
