Just Flying By
I'm loving the new PoppyStamps release and one of the reasons is the Elsa Butterfly Branch. For this card I chose that die as my anchor die. Ok....and then I decided to add a few things and pretty soon, where did my die go? It's there, but almost covered with my shiny ribbon. Next time I may have to rethink the size of the ribbon! I love these colors together and the fact that I created the base layer using a Memory Box Stencil made this card extra special...well for me anyway. Why? I'm pretty new to using stencils and when I create something I like, I'm pretty pleased! Ok, now I'll stop patting myself on the back and get back to telling you more.
I also die cut the Elsa Butterfly and the Lyndon Butterfly and layered them over the butterfly on the Elsa Butterfly Background. Her little antenna were made from thick thread. to get the thread to stiffen, I used white glue. The bright green embossed border and the fence make this card almost perfect. But Wait! I added loads of sequins. Ok, they are like potato chips...you can't have just one! They add sparkle and unlike potato chips, without adding a lot of weight. Yup, with the new postal increase, I'm always thinking of ways to keep the weight down, at least on my cards!
Now for the inside....
You know me, bring the outside in. I used the same embossing folder, and my little Elsa Butterfly repeat some of the outside features. My butterfly and my strips of cantaloupe were cut from paper I used to wipe some color before applying it to the stencil area. You know, waste not......want not!
If I see a comment from you, I'll try to click over and see what you've been up to. I get very inspired looking at what everyone else has been creating.
I hope this day finds you happy, crafting, and inspired....
Hugs from me to you,
