Going a Little Tropical

Good afternoon!  Sherry H. here!  It’s officially summertime, and I thought a tropical-looking card would be fun to make.

Tropical Card

I love using stencils for backgrounds, and here I used the Memory Box Texture Flourish.  I used a dauber to apply Avery Elle Pure White ink through the stencil onto a dark green piece of card stock, cut 4” x 5-1/2”, just narrow enough to leave a slight border on each side.  After inking the background, I took a paper towel and rubbed lightly over the entire surface, which muted it just enough.  I die cut one Trulani Wreath from a light peachy colored cardstock, and snipped it into three pieces to use as tendrils.  I cut two of the Massa Leaf Background in a lighter green card stock, and shaded the leaves with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  I then cut one set of flowers from the Blooming Poinsettias in a rosy pink card stock, and then one each of the smallest and middle sized flowers.  I inked up the flower centers and slightly onto the petals with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, and shaped them in an effort to disguise the fact that they are poinsettias!  The centers were cut from the same paper as the wreath.  I added some glitter and bling to finish it off.  Hope you enjoy!  Thanks for stopping by!
