This is showing the back side of the die before I placed it on the shaker window

I cut the die twice so I could have a white outline of hearts. After I filled it with sequins I added a layer of vellum to the back before adhering to the base of my card.

I hope you all have a blessed week! Thank you so much for the visit today: Hope you win! :)

Blog Blitz! Love Shaker
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0021

Happy New Year, everyone! Poppystamps is in full Valentine mode with a Blog Blitz featuring all new Valentine dies!

I'm showcasing 'Love Stitch Circle Frame'. Together with another new die, 'Double Stitch Scalloped Rectangle Frames', here's a little inspiration for a 'Love Shaker' card.

DSC_0002

I cut several of the love circles, one in white, 5 in red. Rather than use foam, I love the look of a contrast color to pop up my die cut.

DSC_0007

The scalloped frames can be cut apart and used individually, but I kept them together and embossed a A2 sized card for an all over lacy look for my background.

DSC_0009

A bit of Birch Press Design ribbon and some glitter dipped paper roses, and my shaker is ready for my valentine!

DSC_0012

I used a combo of red sequins and red sequin hearts for my filler.

This angle gives you a better look at how I assembled the die cuts.

Don't forget, each comment during the blitz gives you a better chance to win one of the new Valentine dies! Hope you win!

Blog Blitz! Vintage Valentines
by Jennifer Svare

VintageValentine_Valentine1_Watermark

Hello!  I absolutely love hot air balloons, vintage postcards, and Valentine's Day!  For this card, I got to combine all three and I'm excited to share how I did these cards in the video below.

The brand new Hot Air Balloons are very fun and versatile dies. They are a great size to work with and the large one can even be a stand-alone focal point if one wanted.  I used the larger one from the set, masked off panels so I could color them individually, and added a little surprise addition to the balloon...  a decorative heart border complete with stitching! I used the Stitched Heart Curve die to do this and was so pleased with how the curve lined up perfectly.

Gold thread was used prior to inlaying the hearts to add some balloon strings, and a coat of glossy accents isn't necessarily vintage, but I just couldn't resist.

Nuvo drops were used to create a basket full of greenery and flowers.

There was no way I could leave out the incredible Swirled Love die, and so a second card was made.  These sentiment die scripts are incredible.

In my video, I'll also show some fun vintage postcards I found at an auction recently. So much fun!

VintageValentine_Love_Watermark

Notice below, the frame is slightly crooked.  I actually left it this way on purpose.  Vintage postcards have very "handmade" imperfections in them, which adds for a lot of fun embracing "mistakes" that I would normally not use.  What IS perfect, however, is the incredible Be My Valentine Postcard Script die - I just love this!

VintageValentine_FullValentine_Watermark

To leave the oval area clear of the embossing folder impression, I used an oval embossing diffuser plate.  This also allowed me to keep the card background to a single layer.

Ribbon Heart Card
by Jennifer Svare

Hearts_Watermark

Hello!  Today I'm excited to share this Valentine's Day card idea using the new Ribbon Heart die from the latest release!  I love how any colors can be used to create the background that shows along the bottom and through the heart ~ the variety of color always makes it fun for card makers when producing several at a time!

The embossed background and the multiple thicknesses of the heart adds great dimension while being white-on-white.  Even though it's a very clean, simple card, there is a ton of detail ~ and I love how it all fits together.

HeartsCard2

Nuvo crystal drops were added to the centers of the Petit Four Stitched Borders die, in colors to match the backgrounds of the cards. I didn't want to add any new colors here because there was already so much going on with the details of the card.

Here's a step-by-step video of how I made this card.  I hope you have a great day, and I can't wait to show more from this new release!

Be Mine
by Jinny Newlin

Hey, y'all!  It's Jinny here today, sharing my hubby's Valentine.

Poppy Be Mine - JinnyNewlin

I started his card by adding a little interest to the Pool Party, cardstock, card face, which had its bottom corners rounded, by rubbing Pumice Stone and Broken China Distress Inks through lattice and heart stencils respectively.  I then popped a white, cardstock Stitched Tunnel Tag up, just right of vertical center, with foam tape.  The tag itself was topped with a piece of watercolor paper, watercolored in shades of blue and speckled with those same watercolors, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  The watercolor piece was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, with a trio of hearts and topped with the die-cut, black, cardstock Playful Deer Collage, which I white-embossed with a "be mine" sentiment.  I have no idea why the black is photographing as though it is speckled with white spots.  I promise they aren't there in real life.  Grrr!  So frustrating!  Maybe I'd better take a closer look at my camera lens.  It's been keeping pretty busy lately.  Anyway, both the stamped hearts and sentiment came from our playful, Be Mine Penguins stamp set.

The completed tag was then laced with a length of hemp twine and embellished with a length of white, seam binding ribbon, tied in a double bow and dressed up with a sheer, turquoise, polka dot ribbon, tied in a bow, as well as a turquoise button, laced with a white, string bow.

2.15.17 035

Our Powell Butterfly, die-cut from Island Indigo cardstock and dressed up with a coat of Clear Wink of Stella, and a trio of wood veneer hearts complete the look.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be blessed!

Simply Love
By Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to the Poppy Blog! Happy Valentine's Day!

Poppysimplylove

I used the heart channel Die with the red foil cardstock, I wanted a masculine feel to the card and it needed to be kept simple. The love is cut from the scribble love heart in a shiny silver paper, along with adding the single heart to the channel.

A set of Valentine's Day cards
by Ilona Zbieg

IMG_5465

Hi all.

Today I want to show you a set of cards about love.

To create this card, I used a big set of dies and stamps from new  Poppystamps release.

As you can see, this time I didn't use watercolor paints. Only plain paper, Memory Box stencils and dies.

All the cards that I've done I donated to charity.

I wish you all a wonderful Valentine's Day.

Delfina layer set dies from Birch Press Design makes simple card charm and elegant.

Blue heart it is Memory Box die. The main motives of the cards are two deer in love. I glued two colors of tiny hearts around them .

12 Hearts of Love
By Lezlye Lauterbach

12 Hearts of Love

I know more Valentine's, Anniversary or just because .... :) I can't help it.

12 heartslovepoppy

I used the hearts that were die cut from the inlay heart and heart channel die. the large love is a die from Open Studio a division of Memory Box and Poppystamps called all about love.

IMG_1499sidelove

I also used the New impression plate on white cardstock and then cut it down to the size mat I needed for my 12 hearts. This is a great way to use your cuts. Just simple store your cuts with your dies and use them negatives and positive parts of the dies.

Have a fabulous day! Su is out here in CA so I am a happy girl!

I will Always Love You
By Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome Poppystamps Fans!Continuing on with my Love of Valentine's for the Blog Blitz. I have used watercolor paper to cut with the grid collage die. I had imagined this card when I picked this die.

  Collagegridrevised

Gridcollage2

I watercolored the base using reds, pinks and a touch of orange the brushed on the pinks/reds on the top, die cut piece. Finished it off by adding black ink splatters, because I intended to add a black, white embossed sentiment also from Poppystamps.

IMG_1388

The hearts were from the inlay heart die. I also watercolored the white one that I attached to the sentiment. The top piece is mounted with foam squares to add dimension.
