Blue Valentine
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0026

Hello, and welcome to a post featuring one of the new Poppystamps dies, Blooming Rose.

DSC_0022

Now I'm all about romance around Valentines, and the sweet femininity of this die hit all my girly buttons!

Here's a few tips on how I created this card.

DSC_0019

I cut the rose image several time from different colors, gluing down 2 on my distressed card base.

DSC_0016

Once my two rose diecuts were pieced onto the circle, I added foam squares to the back for a bit of a lift off the card.

I always overdo the foam if the card is being sent in the mail, to make sure nothing gets bent or collapses.

A closeup of the card's sentiment, which was doubled and a look at the uplifted center circle.

Hope your Valentines are full of love and maybe just a bit of crafting love too!

Simple Masking and Coloring
by Rebecca Keppel

Rebecca keppel poppystamps valentine card masking1

Valentine's Day is days away, but that doesn't mean there is not time to create some fantastic and fun handmade cards. Even techniques like masking, ink blending and copic coloring can be made simple if you just stick to a few basics.

Limit your colors and go for a simple, sweet look and you will have plenty of time to create a bunch of adorable, masked and colored cards using the Poppystamps Valentine Fairies stamps and dies! Check out this video to see the basic masking and coloring I did to create this card:

You Make My Heart Flutter: Challenge Reminder
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0010

I'm excited to be bringing you some inspiration for Poppy's latest challenge, 'MY HEART'.

DSC_0006

For this card I created an embossed background with the Rose Frame, by die cutting with rubber mats.

DSC_0004

It's easy to do, simply follow your die cutting machine's instruction on creating a raised embossed image.

Like the heart border on the card's top?

DSC_0003

Oh yes, Poppy has a die for that! Cut twice (actually 4 times) and stacked on the top.

DSC_0001

Rose Stem and Ribbon Heart were also cut twice, with white and red cardstock, before adding them to my card.

I hope you play along this month. Always fun to see what you create, and there's always a gc waiting for one lucky person!

Have a great crafty week!

Love Rush
by Michele K. Henderson

IMG_5155-wm

Hello Everyone!

We are all so glad you could join us today, with thoughts of love and cheery days ahead! Today I am sharing a colorful card I created to capture that wonderful feeling of being in love, like a rush of fluttering butterflies! Take a look!

IMG_5152-wm

Tiny butterflies float across the page in a swoosh of color and dimension. I used the Stitched Fluttering Butterflies and the Love Stitch Circle to create a tiny 3D effect.

IMG_5148-wm

Adding the butterflies is the fun part! Once you have all your Lepidoptera cut, carefully fold them in half and arrange them on your card.

IMG_5150-wm

To adhere the butterflies to your card, all you need is a small splotch of glue right in the center. Once the butterfly is in place, gently hold the wings together and use the end of your craft tweezers to press down right in the center for a moment while your glue becomes tacky and sets in place. I like to use Aleene's original tacky glue because it dries so quickly, and has a nice small tip for gluing tiny little cuts.

IMG_5153-wm

Once the butterflies are dry, you can open and close their wings! You can lay the wings flat to slide into an envelope, or close them for a fluttery effect!

Thank you so much for joining us today!

Shaker Card
by Marybeth Lopez

 IMG_1563

Hi there and happy Sunday to you! Congratulations to all the Blog Blitz winners!

I have fun shaker card to share with you today: using the new Heart Confetti Collage and Valentine Fairies Clear Stamp Set.

IMG_1552

IMG_1548 2

I have a layer of fun foam under my front panel then clear acrylic ( not pictured). I used shimmer water color paint to paint my back panel.

After I filled the hearts with sequins I added my painted panel. Then placed the painted panel over the filled, fun foam.

Fullsizeoutput_108a

The fun foam is just the right height for adding a few sequins. When all the layers were complete I added it to pink cardstock.

Simple Shaker with pretty pinks and soft sequins. Hope you like it! The envelops I use, are from Birch Press Design.

Poppystamps has so many darling new dies right now that are so simple to use and in my opinion cut like butter!

Hope you have a blessed week!

Valentine Fairies
by Jeanne Jachna

Valentine-Faeries-Four
I hope you're having a great day!  We're in the middle of a blog blitz!  That means that we're showing projects with the latest release and offering up lots of prizes!  It's my favorite time because we get to do a little something nice for you!
Valentine-Faeries-One
Not only are there loads of new dies in the shop (think everything you need for Spring.. flowers, bunnies, hearts), but there's also a new stamp set with coordinating dies.  This set is called Valentine Fairies!
Valentine-Faeries-Three
I started my card with a simple watercolor panel.  I left a bit of room at the bottom to stamp a sentiment.
Valentine-Faeries-Five
I inked up the fairies with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copic Markers.
Valentine-Faeries-Two
The coordinating die set makes them easy to cut and arrange as  you like.   Don't you love them?    I think they'd make wonderful cards for your favorite princess!
