Faerie Kingdom Challenge Reminder

Have you already joined this month's challenge? The theme is Faerie Kingdom - your project should be fairy themed OR you can just use any type of glitter on it and give it some sparkle and shine! This will make it fairy enough to enter!

And if you already entered remember you can submit up to 3 projects!

Here is the card I have created following the theme - just surround one Faerie die cut with snowflakes, add a little bit of sparkle and here we are in a magical world of elves and fairies!

Please scroll down for some pictures and a video tutorial:

Woodland Magic
by Olga Direktorenko

This winter/Holiday card is super simple to assemble and even suitable for mass production.

Most of the dies that are used to make it are very intricate and that alone slows down the production process a little bit but at the same time it adds so much to the look! Apart from working with intricate dies the assembling is extremely easy - watch the video tutorial to find the full instructions!

Book of Christmas
by Olga Direktorenko

For today's project I wanted to try a new approach to layered cards. So what would you normally do to create a multi-layered card? Just attach the layers with mounting tape. But there is another way to do it - I have basically bound the two card bases with die cut windows to create a book. It is standard size, has lots of dimension, it's totally mailing friendly and has plenty of space for hand written or stamped greetings.

Here is what it looks like:

Sending Christmas Wishes
by Robin Tharaldson

PS Full With

This card features a design strip made with the circles stamp from the Studio Blotter stamp set. I used my stamp positioner, red and green ink and and moved my cardstock repeatedly to make my design. Then over top I used VersaMark ink and gold embossing powder. I used gold glitter paper to cut Poppystamps Sending Script die and heat embossed my stamped sentiment, from Poppystamps Christmas Greetings stamp set.

PS CU1 With

Here are directions for making the decorative strip.

Step 1A

I started with my red ink, stamped the image, and moved my paper one inch, up or down, for each impression.

Step 2A

I moved my starting point up a half inch and stamped my first green impression. From there each impression was one inch up or down.

Step 3A

I moved my starting point up a quarter inch, stamped my first Versamark impression and used gold embossing powder. From there each impression was one inch up or down. I stamped three impressions with Versamark and then heat embossed; repeated until my strip is covered; then trimmed the strip down into two pieces. I used a Memory Box Notecard, in Cranberry, as my card base and then splattered it with gold paint. Added my sentiment strip and adhered Sending to my card!

Poppystamps Masquerade Challenge Card
by Robin Tharaldson

  Masquerade Challenge Full

I hope you are enjoying Poppystamps October Challenge, Masquerade! Using stencils is an easy way to create interesting backgrounds and effects on your projects. And making a mask or stencil from your dies is a great way to expand their use.

October PS CU 5 Snowflake with watermark

I used Memory Box Sprinkle Dots stencil and Dreamweaver Silver Embossing Paste. Love the texture and sparkle from the silver paste! I have also used this stencil for whispy windy backgrounds using a light blue ink.

October PS CU 6 Snowflake with watermark

I used Poppystamps Swirled Joy and Stitched Alpine Snowflakes dies for my card. The Joy was cut three times using red cardstock and glued together for added dimension. The snowflakes were cut once from silver glitter cardstock and then two more times using white cardstock.

October PS CU 4 Snowflake with watermark

I hope you are enjoying the Masquerade Challenge and be sure to upload your projects

Poppystamps Fall Thank You
by Robin Tharaldson

October PS Full1 with Watermark

I am so ready for Fall! I know it is officially Fall, according to the calendar, but it is in the 90's here and on Monday we will hit the 100's. OK, not Fall in my world, lol. However, with the holidays almost upon us I find I never have enough Thank You cards and this sheet of wood veneer has been calling to me for a while; so I have been making a few Thank You cards to have on hand.

October PS CU1 with Watermark

I used Poppystamps Oak Leaf Oval Collage and Thank You Streamer dies to cut the wood veneer sheet. The dies cut through the wood like butter, seriously! Best part, the wood veneer I used is adhesive backed, woo hoo!

October PS CU2 with Watermark

I you don't have wood veneer I think this card would look great using a brown cardstock! I finished my card with sequins from Poppystamps called Not So Heavy Metal; this pack of sequins and glitter is perfect for a Fall shaker card! The following video shows how easy it is to make this card using wood veneer sheets!

I hope this post will inspire you to try using different materials on your projects!

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

Halloween Pillow Boxes
by Olga Direktorenko

My daughter loves drawing with gel pens and I thought that some pens with a cat head caps would be a nice alternative to candies for Halloween. So I thought why not make a matching gift box for them?

I used black and white pastel paper, a couple of dies by Poppystamps and a white steel chain for jewelry making. Oh yes - and some silver embossing powder too! And here is what I came up with - just scroll down for the video!
