Alcohol Inked Stitched Butterflies
by Rebecca Keppel

Rebecca keppel poppystamps alcohol ink stitched butterfly trio 1

Summer is in full swing in my neck of the woods! Kids are out of school and the temperatures are rising! Which means it is the perfect time to play with colors and dies! I wanted to create some really fun butterflies using alcohol inks and the Poppystamps Stitched Butterfly Trio.

I created two panels of alcohol inks using two different color schemes. I kept the colors bright and vibrant, but used plenty of alcohol ink Blending Solution to move the colors around.

Once the alcohol ink panels were dry (which did not take long at all considering how much liquid I used!!) I ran them through my die cut machine with the Stitched Butterfly Trio dies.

I love the way the embossed detail from the dies removes some of the color making the stitching look lighter!

Simple Stamping and No Line Coloring
by Rebecca Keppel

Rebecca keppel poppystamps no line coloring 1

Have you seen lots of colored stamped images with Polychromos pencils lately? I was dying to try them out so I decided to create a no line coloring card. Now, I am definitely a BEGINNER when it comes to coloring with pencils, so I kept everything very simple.

Rebecca keppel poppystamps color pencils1

I stamped the images close to each other, but not overlapping so I did not have to do masking. I stuck to just a few colors of the pencils. All the flowers were three shades of yellow and the leaves were just two shades of green. Even so, it was a blast to create and I love the outcome and will definitely be trying this again!

Check out this video where I share how I do simple stamping and easy no line coloring with the Polychromos pencils:

5 Ways to Use Patterned Paper -- Challenge Reminder
by Rebecca Keppel

Rebecca keppel poppystamps patterned paper challenge

This month's challenge is Patterned Paper Please! Your challenge is to use patterned paper along with at least one Poppystamps stamp or die. Easy peasy, right? Do you need a little inspiration? Well, this month, I played along with the challenge and came up with my top 5 favorite ways to use patterned paper on cards. First, is to use up those scraps and create a rainbow of patterned paper strips.

Rebecca keppel poppystamps 5 ways to use patterned paper (1 of 1)

Or, die cut and use repetitive shapes as a design element for your card.

Rebecca keppel poppystamps 5 ways to use patterned paper (5 of 6)

Using layers and creating your own embellishments is a great way to stretch your dies. Depending on the patterned paper you choose, you could create a card for any theme or recipient!

I love stamping on patterned paper too! Try stamping a large image on a small pattern to create colorful designs without any coloring!

Do you have a patterned paper you love, but it seems too bold to incorporate into a card? Try placing it behind vellum for a softer look!

I really love patterned paper and combining it with Poppystamps and dies is so fun! Check out this video to see all these ideas in action and hear some tips and tricks along the way too!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Don't forget, you have until May 29th at 12 am US EST to link your challenge take HERE! I can't wait to see your creations!

Multiple Dies on One Card
by Rebecca Keppel

Rebecca keppel poppystamps use multiple dies on a card

So many Poppystamps dies work really well together! I grabbed three different types of dies to use on one card. They are all hearts and they all have embossed faux stitched elements so they work really well together!

Rebecca keppel poppystamps multiple dies on one card (1 of 3)

I used the Roundabout Heart die to cut a window on my card panel, the Stitched Heart Borders die to create a heart edge at the bottom and the Petite Stitched Hearts to create an inked element popped up in the center of the window.

In this short video, I show how easy it is to use all three dies to pull together a card!

Multiple Mini Shakers: Framed Challenge Reminder
by Rebecca Keppel

Rebecca keppel poppystamps april framed challenge

Hi Poppystamps fans! Rebecca here for a reminder that this month's challenge is in full swing! This month's challenge is Framed. There are so many ways to use frames on cards and so many ways to create frames!  Rebecca keppel poppystamps framed challenge (1 of 2)

I used the smallest Double Stitched Square Frame die to cut several layers of fun foam and a layer of glitter cardstock. I layered up the fun foam and then adhered them to a card panel. I added some shaker goodies inside each square and covered each with a piece of acetate and a final frame of glitter cardstock.

Rebecca keppel poppystamps framed challenge (2 of 2)

I was able to fit three squares on a 5.5 x 4.25 card. Each shaker features a different color. I finished off the card with a die cut hello and a stamped greeting. These mini shakers were so fun to create! How are you using frames? Don't forget to submit your Framed creation by clicking the Challenge tab up above!

The winner (chosen at random) of this challenge will receive a $20 Gift Certificate to spend on their favorites from the store!

You have until 12 am US EST on April 28 to link up your design! Thanks for stopping by!

Rainbow Inked Die Cuts on Inked Background
by Rebecca Keppel

Rebecca Keppel Poppystamps Blooming Border Distress Oxide Ink1

Rainbows are such bright, happy ways to combine colors! For this card, I used a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks to create a stenciled background. Then, I die cut the Blooming Border die on adhesive backed cardstock and inked those flowers and leaves with the same colors and adhered them on top of the rainbow background.

This is such an easy way to create a layered rainbow card panel. Check out the video to see how to put this colorful card together.

Coordinate Stamped Backgrounds with Ink Blended Images
by Rebecca Keppel

Rebecca keppel poppystamps easter card1

The best part of creating your own stamped background is that you can create it in whatever colors of inks you own! NO matter what the occasion, if you have even just a handful of ink colors, you can perfectly coordinate your background to match the theme. But why stop there?

Use those same ink colors and an ink blending technique to color stamped die cut images or create coordinating tags too!

Rebecca keppel poppystamps easter card coordinating colors (2 of 2)

Check out this video to see how I created my easter egg background and then used ink blending to color my tag and stamped and die cut images:

I love how everything perfectly coordinates! I will definitely be using these two techniques together on future cards! Thanks for stopping by!
