Wirework Ornaments
by Jeanne Jachna

Wire-Ornament-Three

Are you getting ready for Christmas?  I know.. there's so much running around to do right?   It seems like there's always something on your "TO DO" list this time of year!  I'm making a few more cards for last minute presents to hand out.  I like to drop off bagels or donuts at the dentist, and veterinarian, and I can just tuck this in the bag of goodies.
WIre-Ornament
If you know me.. then you know I love bold bright colors, something a little unexpected!   I hope this one makes you smile!
Wire-Ornament-Five
I started with a pink background created with the Botanica Frame Die.  I cut the die from pink card stock, and then layered it over a fuchsia panel.  I trimmed the panel down about 1/4 on all sides to layer it on an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.5").
Wire-Oranment-Two
I cut the Wirework Ornaments from metallic gold foil paper, and used the Retro Ornaments as a background.  I layered green, blue and yellow behind the intricate foil cut outs.  To create a little more dimension, and add some shading I inlaid just a few pieces of darker cards stock on each.  This didn't take long and I only added about 5 inlays on each ornament.
Wire-Ornament-Four
The ornaments are adhered directly to the base (no pop ups on this one) so it was easy to adhere the Merry Christmas Script sentiment over the ornaments.  The finishing touch was a sprinkle of gold sequins to coordinate with the gold Wirework Ornaments.
Wire-Ornament-One
I love the fun colors and retro glam this one has!   What will you make today?

Wirework Ornament
by Sue McRae

Hello crafters! Sue here with a clean and simple holiday card.

P1340479c

To start off my design I die cut two Pine Twigs from white card stock. I covered one twig with Versamark, sprinkled on green metallic embossing powder and heat set. I did the same for the second twig but used brass embossing powder and I over heated the embossing powder until it got all bubbly. This added a rough look to the twig instead of a smooth look like on the green one.

P1340498c

I die cut the Wirework Ornament and Retro Ornament from glitter card stock and also used the hanging part of the String Ornament die to attach the ornament to the twig.

I felt the background was a little plain so before assembling my card I randomly scored lines on the card stock from the back side so that the raised lines would be on the front of the card. I just made sure to leave myself enough space to stamp the sentiment.

P1340507c

This is a quick project to pull together and would be great for mass producing. Just changing the colour of the ornament would give you a totally different look.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello Poppystamps fans :)

Christmas time is coming.  On the blogs there are more and more craft  projects with a Christmas theme.

I am sharing a Turquoise Christmas card today.

Preparing the cards, step by step:

  1. I cut turquoise paper size card blank.
  2. At the center of the paper I cut out Frame.
  3. At the bottom I glued glitter paper.
  4. I cut light turquoise snowflake, in the middle I glued embellishment.
  5. I cut some glitter stars and I glued them in several places.
  6.  I heat emboss "wishing" the phrase from the Christmas Greetings clear stamps, the rest is stamped in black.

Snowflake turquoise card
by Ilona Zbieg

IMG_4827

Hi all  Poppystamps fans,

Today I prepared for you Christmas cards in turquise colors. I cut white background with a 1651 Pickering Snowflake Background craft die. I stuck them on the turquise background to have a nice contrast. Single snowflakes are cut from another die called Pickering Snowflakes and cut from glitter paper. The text and a bauble background are cut from glitter paper as well to make card shiny. I used a cotton to 'hang' my baulbe on the card. At the end I added some sequins

Merry Snowflakes
by Sue McRae

It's another great day to be visiting us at Poppystamps because we're still on a roll with the blog blitz.

P1340102c

Today I'm featuring the Pickering Snowflake Border. This die can quickly add a festive touch on your cards either vertically or horizontally or the snowflakes can be cut apart to use individually.

I went with nontraditional colours for this card by water colouring the snowflakes in pink, purple, blue and aqua shades. After they were dry I gave them a quick spritz with Perfect Pearls.

P1340113c

The sentiment is actually from the Merry Christmas Tag die. I die cut the tag from glossy card stock that I coloured with alcohol inks and trimmed out the sentiment. This way you get a lot more mileage from your dies.

P1340098c

The silver ornament is part of the Merry Ornament die. I just snipped it away from the sentiment and adhered it to the back of the snowflake.

I adhered all my die cuts to a piece of wood grain card stock and added a few gems to finish off the card.

Remember to leave a comment for your chance to win the Pickering Snowflake Border and come back every day to see all the inspiration from the design team.

Thanks for visiting with me today.

Sept. Blog Blitz: Season's Greetings
by Jinny Newlin

Afternoon, y'all!  It's Jinny here again, sharing a card that's dressed for the Christmas season, for day three of our September Blog Blitz.

Poppy Season's Greetings - JinnyNewlin
I started this card by watercoloring the space behind where the Ornament Tree die cut would eventually lie on a piece of watercolor paper.  I then splattered it with those same shades of green watercolor, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, before framing it with both Lake House cardstock and gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  The tree itself was die-cut from white cardstock, and the "season's greetings" sentiment was stamped, in Jet Black ink, along its right edge.

9.19.16 028
A number of turquoise, red, and crystal buttons were sewn, using gold thread, into the nearly-solid white spaces on the tree; before it was popped off the surface, of the white, cardstock, card face, with foam tape.

9.19.16 029
Die-cut, Garden Green, cardstock  Pine Twigs, as well as a Real Red, cardstock Lovely Bow, which was coated in a healthy dose of Clear Wink of Stella, complete the look.

9.19.16 036
Be sure to check out all the Design Team's fabulous creations, showcasing goodies from the September Release, right here on the Poppystamps blog, every day through Tuesday, October 3, 2016.  And don't forget to leave lots of love as you visit, because a new, September Release product is being randomly given away on EACH AND EVERY Poppystamps' blog post.  You have until Friday, October 7, 2016, at 12 am EST, to do so.  Winners will be announced, on the Poppystamps blog, the following Monday, October 10, 2016.  I've got the stunning, Ornament Tree die, that you see in action above, to giveaway this afternoon.

That's it, from me, for this Blog Blitz; but there truly is so much left to see.  You simply don't want to miss out.  Have fun, and good luck with ALL the glorious prizes, Poppystamps friends!  Hugs!

Ornamental Butterflies
by Ilona Zbieg

IMG_3278

Hi everyone

Another Blog Blitz day today so let me introduce you to new stamp set called Ornament Butterflies.

Once butterfly is cut you have tones of possibilities really. You can add normal stamp or even emboss ornaments. And this is exactly what you can see on my card - two of the butterflies are embossed and the other three have a stamp.

As usual I used water color paint to make that fantastic background.

Finally I added turquise frame and some sequins.

Hope you will enjoy that :)

Glittery Goodness
by Sue McRae

Welcome everyone! This is my last post for this year and I thought I would finish with some glittery goodness.

P1300243c

I normally don't use a lot of glitter on my projects but this time of the year just calls for it, don't you think? I pulled out my Glitter Ritz for this card, it has the best sparkle power out there!

I used the Retro Ornaments for my base in Fire Red glitter and the Basilica Ornament in Poppy Orange for the top layer. The string and bow are from the String Ornament die and  and for my branch I used the Massa Leaf Background in Sweet Basil glitter.

P1300267c

I wanted a really clean backdrop for all that sparkle so I embossed the Merry Christmas Background die into the card stock instead of die cutting it. A technique I think I should use more often!

P1300252c

Thanks for visiting with me today and I wish everyone a most joyous holiday season! See you in the New Year!

Dazzling Ornaments
by Sue McRae

I'm here today to show you how to jazz up plain ornaments with a  variety of dies already in your stash.

P1300137c

The stacked Retro Ornaments is a great basic die set to have because you can decorate them however you wish, which makes them very versatile.

P1300129c

I die cut the ornaments from white linen card stock and coloured them with Distress Inks. From glitter card stock I die cut the Grendon Wreath, the Holiday Winterberries and the Snowy Scrollwork. The Grendon Wreath isn't Christmas specific so make sure to look at all your dies and see how you can use them year round!

P1300149c

Next, I chose which parts of the glitter die cuts I would adhere to my ornaments.

P1300141c

For the ornament toppers I used the bow from the Holiday Winterberries, the loops from the String Ornament and on the final one I made my own bow with metallic thread.

P1300143c

I thought a pop of red was needed on this card so I used red for the sentiment and I finished off by running a line of Stickles around the edge of the white card stock.

Thank you so much for popping by today!
