Blog Blitz! Introducing Country Rose Corner
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0020

Greetings Poppy Peeps! We're continuing our fabulous Blog Blitz with another new die and giveaway.

DSC_0018

I'm featuring the very beautiful, Country Rose Corner. Isn't it divine? A few tips on creating a card using this die.

DSC_0028

I used my Scor-Buddy to score vertical lines on both sides of the card base.

DSC_0027

Pointed Oval Frames provided a frame for next step, watercoloring a stamped bloom from Peony Stems and Blossoms.

DSC_0026

I kept my rose dies intact, and added fronds from 2 further die cuts, slightly inked.

DSC_0022

Sentiment: Peony Stems and Blossoms.

Don't forget to leave a comment to be able to win this die!

Blog Blitz! Love Shaker
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0021

Happy New Year, everyone! Poppystamps is in full Valentine mode with a Blog Blitz featuring all new Valentine dies!

I'm showcasing 'Love Stitch Circle Frame'. Together with another new die, 'Double Stitch Scalloped Rectangle Frames', here's a little inspiration for a 'Love Shaker' card.

DSC_0002

I cut several of the love circles, one in white, 5 in red. Rather than use foam, I love the look of a contrast color to pop up my die cut.

DSC_0007

The scalloped frames can be cut apart and used individually, but I kept them together and embossed a A2 sized card for an all over lacy look for my background.

DSC_0009

A bit of Birch Press Design ribbon and some glitter dipped paper roses, and my shaker is ready for my valentine!

DSC_0012

I used a combo of red sequins and red sequin hearts for my filler.

DSC_0017

This angle gives you a better look at how I assembled the die cuts.

Don't forget, each comment during the blitz gives you a better chance to win one of the new Valentine dies! Hope you win!

Hope Your Season Sparkles
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0030

Working on addressing some cards today, and wanted to share one I did using my Finetec golds, with

Poppy's Perfect Pine Needles die.

DSC_0022

I knew I wanted to make a wreath, so I die cut the image several times from white cardstock, 7 to be exact.

DSC_0020

Assembly on a circle cut from 2 Memory Box dies taped together gave me the perfect wreath base.

DSC_0026 3

To add a bit of sparkle, the tips were pressed into Versamark and embossed with Antique Gold Powder.

DSC_0029

A sprinkling of glitter and my card is ready to send!

Happy crafting and Happy Holidays!

Challenge Reminder - Anything But a Card
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0024

Hello! And welcome to a friendly reminder to create something for our challenge this month, 'Anything But a Card'.

Need a hint? How about a gift card holder? Who couldn't use a few of those this time of year?

DSC_0010 2

Surprise Deer is so sweet, and gets the 'aaahs' everytime!

Here's how I used him to make my gift card tag.

DSC_0008

If you purchase one tag set this year, let me rave about Pinpoint Main Street Tags, and

Pinpoint Dome Tag Decorations.

8 sizes to choose from, and together with the Decorations sets, you have endless possibilities!

I cut my tag from shimmer card stock, ran it though an embossing folder, and chose one of the decorations dies for a pocket.

DSC_0007

The deer was sprayed with shimmer spray, and sponged on the edges. Notice the antlers can be cut separately allowing for a color change.

DSC_0005

Assembling my gift card holder was easy. Just glued the sides and bottom of the added Dome Tag Decoration. The snowy base is the top of the Dome Tag cut to form a hill. The hill, snowflake and Tree Trunks were cut from glitter paper.

DSC_0021 2

Not decided yet who will get this Starbucks gift card!

DSC_0019

Liked this design so much, I made 3 in different color combos!

Does this give you ideas? Would love to see and comment on your creation. Remember, the challenge lasts all month, and there's a gift certificate prize for the winner!

Happy Crafting, and Happy Holidays!

Red Lantern
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0014

With Christmas right around the corner, creating a few extra cards is a great idea, and I know will come in handy.

DSC_0010

Here's some inspiration for you, created with all dies.

DSC_0004

I started with Garden Lantern, and cut it with red card stock and then again with a darker red twice, to give it stability.

Then I gave it a window with clear cardstock.

DSC_0005

Shiny Snowflakes cut from glitter paper...

DSC_0008Floribunda Collage provided the snow, in several sizes.

DSC_0013

I hope you're putting the finishing touches on your cards. And I hope you found some Poppy inspiration today!

Have a great day!

Sparkle
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0021

Greetings!  It's time for some Holiday card inspiration, and I have just the dies to help spark your holiday spirit!

DSC_0003 2

Is that sweet deer the cutest?

DSC_0007

I made a stencil from the the Tree Trunks Craft die, and used my Starburst sprays.

DSC_0014

Lots of foam and more spray and glitter for the next layer,  Pine Needle Clearing.

The deer comes with a separate die for his antlers, allowing for a color change if you want. I blinged parts of him with Diamond Stickles.

DSC_0018

The word, Sparkle, seemed the perfect sentiment for my holiday card!

I'd love to hear what you think. Did you get any of the dies featured on my card during the blitz?

Have fun crafting, and I'll be back soon!

Christmas Gingerbread Blog Blitz
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0029

Poppy's having a Holiday Blog Blitz, and we have a couple of dies that you could win! Just leave a comment at the end of this

post, and you could win these adorable gingerbread boy and girl!

DSC_0023

Each of these cuties comes with the body form and it's corresponding outfit. All set for you to decorate your gingerbread boy or girl. I cut mine from cork, which kinda reminded me of gingerbread. Also cut the cottage from cork.

DSC_0025

Shiny Snowflakes are another set I used for this card, and cut all 3 sizes from plain white cardstock.

Sparkle
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0025

Hi there! Are you ready to get creative this weekend?

I love the look of sparkle this time of year, and have some tips to help your cards have some extra sparkle and shine using Poppy dies.

DSC_0019

First get all your elements cut and ready. I used some frosty blues, whites and silver shimmer cardstock for my card.

DSC_0020

With Crystal Ornaments die, I embossed and re-embossed my die cut several times with Stampendous Winter Wonderland.

Tip: Emboss once, and while still hot, press image into your powder, heat setting it again. I did this 4 times.

DSC_0029 2

Poppy has a series of different sized ovals called Pointed Oval Frames, that actually give you a trio of options with your cut.

I used  the 2nd smallest  to create a window for my holiday shaker.

Tip: When cutting 2 layers, place die over the 2 cardstocks, taped together, to get them perfectly aligned. Even if they don't cut all the through the bottom layer, the image is indented for perfect placement on your 2nd run through.

DSC_0027

I'm so excited to see sequin mixes in the Birchpress Design shop. This set is called Festival of Lights. Just look at all the shapes, colors and sizes you get in one package.

DSC_0023

Hope I gave you some inspiration for your holiday cards.

Enjoy your weekend, and happy crafting!
