Grateful Heart
By Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to the Poppystamps Blog! Oh my gosh I did it again a card with a heart on it.

Poppyheartrainbow

I love simple cards to convey a powerful message. I created a rainbow background using a sponge blending technique and then adding versamark and a glittered embossing powder.

Then the top panel with the the die cut is mounted with foam dots to raise the panel for a dimension effect. I also stamped and mounted my sentiment.

Have a fabulous day.

Simply Love
By Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to the Poppy Blog! Happy Valentine's Day!

Poppysimplylove

I used the heart channel Die with the red foil cardstock, I wanted a masculine feel to the card and it needed to be kept simple. The love is cut from the scribble love heart in a shiny silver paper, along with adding the single heart to the channel.

12 Hearts of Love
By Lezlye Lauterbach

12 Hearts of Love

I know more Valentine's, Anniversary or just because .... :) I can't help it.

12 heartslovepoppy

I used the hearts that were die cut from the inlay heart and heart channel die. the large love is a die from Open Studio a division of Memory Box and Poppystamps called all about love.

I also used the New impression plate on white cardstock and then cut it down to the size mat I needed for my 12 hearts. This is a great way to use your cuts. Just simple store your cuts with your dies and use them negatives and positive parts of the dies.

I will Always Love You
By Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome Poppystamps Fans!Continuing on with my Love of Valentine's for the Blog Blitz. I have used watercolor paper to cut with the grid collage die. I had imagined this card when I picked this die.

I watercolored the base using reds, pinks and a touch of orange the brushed on the pinks/reds on the top, die cut piece. Finished it off by adding black ink splatters, because I intended to add a black, white embossed sentiment also from Poppystamps.

The hearts were from the inlay heart die. I also watercolored the white one that I attached to the sentiment. The top piece is mounted with foam squares to add dimension.

Holiday Greeting
by Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to Poppystamps Blog! I have Christmas Card for you today!

Chalkchristmas

I cut the poinsettia out of kraft cardstock and colored them with Prismacolor colored pencils for a soft vintage look.  I created the chalkboard look on my black cardstock by rubbing white pigment ink on it, then removing some with a baby wipe.

Chalkpoppy2

I used the same ink for the sentiment and then heat embossed it with white powder for a pop.

Poppy3

I love adding the chunky gold glitter to the centers as an alternative. Have a great day!

He's Coming to Town...
by Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to Poppystamps Blog! Lezlye here today with a Christmas Card. This is one of those idea's that just kept

coming forward with idea's.

Poppynorthpoledeer

I decided to do the card in white and gold and just a few touches of red. I had an open spot at the bottom and decided to add the hand drawn note pole sign. The sleigh was assembled and cut in half. I tucked it behind to make it appear as it was flying off. I hand colored twine with copies to make it look like leather.

Northpoledeer2

I used quite a few dies on this card, but I really like the way it came together. I hope you do too!

Holiday's on the Hill
by Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to the Poppystamps Blog.Today I wanted to share a tip for easy cutting of intricate dies. I used the snowflake background for this tutorial.

Poppychristmas

You Will Need:

2 pieces cardstock (one is a shim other desired to be used)

1 Dryer Sheet

IMG_1167

Layer Paper for card, Dryer sheet scrap cardstock. Run through desired Die cut machine. I used the Cut n Boss.

IMG_1169 IMG_1170
Most of the time all the pieces pull out and stick to the dryer sheet, leaving you piece for your design ready to use.

My trees are watercolored, houses cut from colored cardstock yellow behind for lights. I actually used the negative cuts from the the stitched landscape dies, so you basically get two cuts in each die. I added the black strip so the title wouldn't get lost in the snowflake background.

Poppymb Poppymbout

Hope you enjoyed my card and that my little tip helps you with your detailed dies.

Have a great Day!

Be Thankful
by Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to Poppystamps Blog! Lezlye today sharing another Fall Card for your inspiration.

Poppyfall1
I love fall and the colors that are all around. Today I am showcasing a beautiful fall die and I have done the inlaid die technique.

Fall3

I cut it once from the brown cardstock and then two more time through copper and gold. You will notice in my last photo the embossing detail that comes through on the acorn tops, when you use a thin rubber mat to run through your die machine a second time. This allows the paper to go deeper and leave the embossed design.

Fall2

Have a great Day! Be Thankful!
