Snowflake Ribbon

KayM-believe2

Hello friends! I have a lovely soft watercolored Christmas card to share with you today featuring the beautiful Snowflake Ribbon Die and Fancy Believe die from Poppystamps!

KayM-believe

I started by wetting my whole piece of watercolor paper liberally and then I just dabbed green watercolors along the bottom left corner. I only used one shade of green and I just let that spread with the water. After it was very dry, I cut out the Snowflake Ribbon die out of white card stock, and glued that along the right side with Mono Adhesive. I cut the Fancy Believe die out with white card stock as well and glued it along the bottom. I cut some small white snowflakes out with the Christmas Baubles die and glued them along the sides of the ribbon. I then added a few clear 4mm sequins.

The sparkly pieces you see in the loops of the b and l in believe were cut out of glittery fun foam and added in at the last minute. I thought that looked festive! :)

I hope you have enjoyed my post today! It won't be long before Christmas is here, so get busy on those Christmas cards!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Stacked Stockings

KayM-stockings2

Hello friends!

I'm here today to share a card I created using one of the brand new dies from the Holiday release! I just adore these Stacked stockings! How cute are they?

KayM-Stocking

For this card, I used the inlaid die technique, which I love and is really quick, easy and fun to do! I first cut the die out of four colors of card stock, red, dark green, light green, pink, and white. I used the red for my base and I placed a large piece of Score Tape on the back side. When I flipped it over I now had a sticky place to add all of the die pieces back into. I used the white for the outline of the stockings, and just tried to evenly space out the colors of the other pieces.

KayM-stocking3

When I was done adding the pieces back in, I cut my red base down to 5 1/2 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches wide. I then cut a green border from the Memory Box stitched Country borders dies and glued that down along the right side of my white card base. I added foam tape to the red panel with the stockings, and adhered that onto my card over lapping the green strip. Lastly I added a few green, red and gold sequins! With the pieces that I had left over, I could have easily and quickly put together three more cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you've enjoy reading about how I put this cute Christmas card together!

Blog Blitz with Skybrook Ornaments

KayM-skybrook3

Hello Poppystamps fans! Welcome to another day of the blog blitz where we are showcasing all the beautiful new Poppystamps dies that have just been released! Today I am featuring the beautiful new Skybrook Ornaments!

KayM-skybrook1

For this card, I first embossed the die into some white card stock, just to leave an impression. I then colored in the ornaments with my Copic markers. I used three shades of red and blended.  I colored the little circle spaces in with green. I then cut out one of the Skybrook Ornament dies and I glued this over my colored impression.

KayM-skybrook2

Next I stamped the sentiment in black ink and I mounted the whole white panel onto an A2 size red top folded card. I cut the top of the ornament out of a piece of silver fun foam and glued that in place, then  added some small clear sequins on the larger of the green ornaments.

KayM-skybrook4

And there you have a beautiful clean and simple Christmas card, ready to send to that special family member or friend :)

Blog Blitz Featuring Boddington Tree Border

KayM-Boddtree2

Welcome friends to another day of the fabulous Poppystamps Blog Blitz where we are showcasing the brand new holiday release! Today I am using a beautiful die called Boddington Tree Border along with a fun new sentiment die called Fancy Believe.

KayM-Boddtree1

For this card, I used watercolor paper and Peerless watercolors. I used several different shades of blues and greens and just dabbed them along the bottom of the watercolor paper, letting it blend and run a bit. When this was dry, I cut the Boddington Tree Border out of white card stock and glued this along the very bottom edge.  I cut the Fancy Believe out twice, one with plain white card stock and one with a piece of watercolor paper I had already watercolored with the same colors I used for the bottom of the card. I glued these together and adhered it to the card above the tree border.

KayM-Boddtree3

I added a few sequins, then mounted my watercolor panel to an A2 side folded card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to leave a comment on this post for a chance to win the Boddington Tree Border die!

A Time To Celebrate

KayM-celebrate4

Hello Poppystamps fans! I have a card to share with you today using some of the very fun scene building dies! I love creating little scenes on my cards, and Poppystamps  has some that work wonderfully for this purpose!

KayM-Celebrate1

I started by cutting a stitched rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Layers from Memory Box out of watercolor paper. I sponged Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress ink on it covering the entire piece, and flicked water on it with my paintbrush.  I then cut out three more of the same stitched rectangle with three different shades of green card stock. I cut them at slightly different layering links using the Stitched Landscapes dies. I layered these onto my sponged background popping up the very front layer with foam tape. I cut out the trees using the Stick Trees and Stick Tree Tops, and adhered the pieces together. I then used foam tape, and adhered those to to scene, sticking the bottom edges under the popped up hill. I cut some clouds out using the Circle Forest Scene from Memory Box, and glued them up in the sky.

KayM-celebrate2

I then cut out a green leafy sprig, and glued it to the right side, tucking it just under the popped up hill layer. I cut some white flowers with the Johnny Jump Ups die, and added them with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment from the Into The Words stamp set with black ink, and added a few white dots with my gel pen.

A Terrific Birthday!

KayM-hoping3

Hello Poppystamp's fans! I have a new card to share with you today using the new die Colchester Houses. I love this die! It is so fun! The doors open and shut! :)

KayM-hoping1

So the first thing I did was watercolor a piece of paper with a rainbow of colors. I let that dry good and then cut the Colchester Houses out leaving about an inch and a half at the bottom. I stamped the sentiment with the Into The Words Stamp set along the bottom with black ink. I then added lots of foam tape to the back.

KayM-hoping2

Next I cut the houses out of a piece of teal blue card stock, but kept the negative part for using on my card.  I splattered a bit of white paint on it and let that dry. I took a piece of black card stock and glued the blue piece even with the top of the card. I then adhered the watercolored houses with the foam tape where it fit in with the negative die cut. I purposely left a little strip of the black at the bottom to tie the black windows in with the whole card.

KayM-hoping4

I mounted the whole piece onto a horizontal A2 size card base. Now I have a wonderful birthday card that would be great for a guy or a girl! Thanks so much for stopping by the Poppystamps blog today!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Hope In Your Heart

KayM-Hope3

Hello friends!

Today I'm sharing a card I made using the new Velvet Blossom die and the Small Posh Outline die. You know when I first saw the Posh Outline dies, I immediately thought of poinsettias, but I have yet to use this die for that. I have used it as a summer flower and now I'm using it for the leaves for my flower. A very versatile die that one :)

KayM-Hope1

I first watercolored a background for my flowers using different shades of blue, green and a touch of yellow. I let that dry and stamped the sentient from Memory Box in black ink. I cut the flower petals out of blue card stock and added some shading with my Copic markers  before assembling them with Mono Adhesive.  After they were all put together I added the white centers and a few dots with my white gel pen.

KayM-Hope4

I next cut out the leaves from the Small Post outline die using a piece of watercolor paper that I had already lightly watercolored with green paint and let dry. I adhered the leaves to my watercolored panel with glue dots and then glued the flowers on top of those with foam tape.  I added a few clear sequins and lightly brushed some Wink of Stella on the petals of the flowers for shine.

KayM-Hope2

I got the light right in the last photo so you can see where the Wink of Stella is. I didn't cover the whole petals, just a few strokes in the center of the petals.

Thank you so much for stopping by the Poppystamps blog! Hope you have a great day!

KayM-Thankyou3

Hello Friends!

I have a new card to share with you that I created using the beautiful new Art Deco Roses die. This is definitely one of my favorites from the new release!

KayM-Thankyou1

I first started with a  piece of watercolor paper. I thoroughly wet the whole sheet and dabbed some red, yellow and orange Peerless watercolor on it and let those blend together. I let this dry and cut it into a panel 4 1/2 x 3 1/2. I then cut out two of the Art Deco Roses corners and glued them to the top right corner and the bottom left.

KayM-Thankyou2

I then cut out two of the Dianna Border from green card stock and glued them along the top and bottom edges. I added a few red sequins to look like small flowers. I then cut out the Vintage Thank you out of white card stock and glued that down in the center. I mounted the whole panel on a horizontal folded A2 size card base with foam tape.
