Share the Love
by Jinny Newlin

Morning, y'all!  It's Jinny here today, sharing a card, highlighting one of our new, Spring 2017 Release dies, Butterfly Trio, and Birch Press Design's gorgeous, Watercolor Wildflowers stamp set.  Enjoy!

Poppystamps Share the Love - JinnyNewlin

I started this card by stamping the floral images, from the Watercolor Wildflowers stamp set, in layers of Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Dusty Concord Distress Inks, as well as Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks, on watercolor paper.  Their stems were stamped in Peeled Paint Distress Ink, before everything was spritzed with a little water to blend and soften the colors.  Once it was dry, I splattered some of the same ink colors used above, along with Pure Black acrylic paint, across the background.  Everything was then sprayed with a Pearl mist, which I know isn't showing up in these photos, just for a little shimmer and shine.

3.20.17 063

The bottom center of the prepped piece was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "share the love" sentiment, from our Be Mine Penguins stamp set, before framing it with both Elegant Eggplant cardstock and gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching.

3.20.17 061

It was then popped off the surface of the white, cardstock, card face with foam tape.  The Stitched Butterfly Trio was die-cut from vellum.  The larger two butterflies were layered one on top of the other; and all three were adhered, within the scene, just at their centers, in order to give their wings lift and studded with black pearls to complete the look.

Spring Blog Blitz | Snowy Mountaintops
by Jinny Newlin

Hey, y'all!  It's Jinny here today, and I'm super excited to be sharing a few new goodies from our Spring 2017 Release, all wrapped up in my brother's birthday card.  Enjoy!

Poppy Happy Birthday - JinnyNewlin

I started this card by die-cutting all the scenery bits and pieces, including Stitched Cloudline, Snowy Mountaintops, and Pretty Flowers, from watercolor paper; watercoloring each one to reflect its place in the scene; and piecing them all together, before splattering them with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  Once it was dry, I die-cut the snowy specks on the mountaintops from white, glitter paper and pieced them right into the openings on the mountains.  I so wish you could see that glitter better.

3.6.17 012

I then die-cut the Happy Birthday Streamer from Basic Black cardstock; applied it to the center of the scene; and added interest with Glossy Accents...

3.6.17 029

before anchoring everything, to the white, cardstock, card face, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, to complete the look.

Be Mine
by Jinny Newlin

Hey, y'all!  It's Jinny here today, sharing my hubby's Valentine.

Poppy Be Mine - JinnyNewlin

I started his card by adding a little interest to the Pool Party, cardstock, card face, which had its bottom corners rounded, by rubbing Pumice Stone and Broken China Distress Inks through lattice and heart stencils respectively.  I then popped a white, cardstock Stitched Tunnel Tag up, just right of vertical center, with foam tape.  The tag itself was topped with a piece of watercolor paper, watercolored in shades of blue and speckled with those same watercolors, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  The watercolor piece was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, with a trio of hearts and topped with the die-cut, black, cardstock Playful Deer Collage, which I white-embossed with a "be mine" sentiment.  I have no idea why the black is photographing as though it is speckled with white spots.  I promise they aren't there in real life.  Grrr!  So frustrating!  Maybe I'd better take a closer look at my camera lens.  It's been keeping pretty busy lately.  Anyway, both the stamped hearts and sentiment came from our playful, Be Mine Penguins stamp set.

2.15.17 030

The completed tag was then laced with a length of hemp twine and embellished with a length of white, seam binding ribbon, tied in a double bow and dressed up with a sheer, turquoise, polka dot ribbon, tied in a bow, as well as a turquoise button, laced with a white, string bow.

2.15.17 035

Our Powell Butterfly, die-cut from Island Indigo cardstock and dressed up with a coat of Clear Wink of Stella, and a trio of wood veneer hearts complete the look.

2.15.17 038

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be blessed!

Thank You for Your Kindness
by Jinny Newlin

Morning, Poppystamps friends!  It's Jinny here today, sharing a collection of thank yous I sent out for my birthday gifts last month.  Kansas seems to have completely forgotten how to produce snow, and winter really isn't much fun without such.  So, I'm willing the warm weather back with these springtime beauties.

Poppy Floral Stem Collection - JinnyNewlin
Let's take a look up close and personal.  Shall we?

Poppy Thank You for Your Kindness - JinnyNewlin

I started this card by die-cutting the Floral Stem Collage craft die from Coastal Cabana cardstock and its flower, in three layers thick, from Ballet Slippers cardstock.  I then anchored the center of the layered bloom with a soft yellow button, laced with white string; and embellished the petals with a sequin butterfly.

  2.8.17 017

The "thank you for your kindness" sentiment was white-embossed, vertically, along the right edge of the die-cut window, which was backed with clear cardstock.

2.8.17 022
I then machine stitched a white-threaded, double, straight-stitch frame around the prepped piece's outside edges, before framing its backside with foam tape to house the shaker elements.  I couldn't decide whether I wanted to do a double or single, machine-stitched frame; and while the stitching does help anchor the clear cardstock to the backside of the window, a single layer is sufficient.  So, a few of the cards have only a single layer of such.

PLS Single Thank You for Your Kindness - JinnyNewlin
A piece of white cardstock was then adhered to the kraft, cardstock, card face, before adhering the window in place over a healthy dose of heart, Sparkling Clear, and Seaspray sequins, as well as silver seed beads and those sweet, little, white, cardstock, Bunny Hop die cuts.  I just love how cute these tiny die cuts look in a shaker!

Happy Birthday
by Jinny Newlin

Morning, y'all!  It's Jinny here today; and I'm so excited to be back, sharing a project, showcasing more of what our January 2017 Release has to offer!  This one made it to my brother-in-law, for his birthday, late last week.  Enjoy!

Poppy Happy Birthday - JinnyNewlin

I started this card by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper in various shades of green.  I then speckled it with those same watercolors, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, before using the Happy Birthday Tag craft die to remove its center.  I then went back and filled in a portion of that center with a separate, Basic Black, cardstock, Happy Birthday Tag die cut.  The entire piece was then backed with a sheet of clear cardstock to create the window, which was filled in with a variety of sequins, seed beads, and a number of cardstock, Tiny Feathers die cuts.

1.9.17 084

For the back of the window, I used a plain piece of white cardstock so as not to compete with everything else that was already going on.  Black-threaded, straight, machine stitching secures all the layers together.  The entire piece was then popped off the surface of the white, cardstock, card face with foam tape and dressed up with a double, white, seam binding ribbon bow, embellished with a black, gingham bow, as well as a black button, laced with teal twine, tied in a bow.

1.9.17 077

Thanks, as always, for humbling us with a visit!  Have a blessed last day of January, and we'll see you next month!  Hugs!

Scribble Thank You
by Jinny Newlin

Afternoon, y'all!  It's Jinny here today to continue our Valentine Blog Blitz, in celebration of the January 2017 Release, with a beautiful, all-occasion thank you.

Poppy Butterfly Thank You - JinnyNewlin
I started this card by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper in shades of green and purple.  I then speckled it with those same watercolors, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, before using the new, Tulisa Collage craft die to die-cut its center.  I then backed it with a piece of white, glitter cardstock, before securing everything, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitches, to the white, cardstock, card face.  The Corden Butterfly was die-cut from a piece of watercolor paper, prepped in the same way as the background itself with the exception of using different shades of watercolor.  I then topped it with a die-cut, Pacific Point, cardstock Powell Butterfly and secured it, just at its center, in the top center of the card face, with silver-threaded, messy, machine stitches.  A little foam tape, tucked under the wings themselves, ensures they will never lie flat.

1.9.17 057
A die-cut, from white cardstock, Scribble Thank You, adhered in the bottom center of the design, completes the look.

1.9.17 060
Be sure to stop back by every day, TWICE a day, through Monday, October 23, 2017, to see what my talented teammies have cooked up, using all the new goodies, just for your viewing pleasure.  AND don't forget to leave lots of love as you visit; because a new, January Release product is being randomly given away on EACH AND EVERY Poppystamps' blog post.  You have until Wednesday, January 25, 2017, to do so.  Winners will be announced, on the Poppystamps blog, the following Saturday, January 28, 2017.  I've got the versatile, Scribble Thank You craft die, that you see in action above, to giveaway today.

Young Fox Pair
by Jinny Newlin

Afternoon, Poppystamps friends!  It's Jinny here today to show off more of our fabulous, new products from the January 2017 Release.  I hope you've already stopped by to check it out!  I've got a "love"ly, little number, boasting not one, but five, new craft dies, along with one, new stamp set, to share with you all.  Enjoy!

Poppy Love You Always - JinnyNewlin

I started this card by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper in shades of blue and green and speckling it with those same watercolors, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  I then die-cut various layers of that watercolored piece with the Stitched Cloudline craft die to create the sky background.  Its bottom edge was then decked out with a strip of Always Artichoke cardstock, die-cut with our new, Freida Curve craft die.  The heart was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a watercolor paper die-cut, which had been watercolored and splattered using the same technique as the background; given a little shine with Clear Wink of Stella; and tucked in behind the Freida Curve branches with foam tape.  The Young Fox Pair were die-cut from Cajun Craze cardstock, ink distressed, and tucked into the scene with foam tape.

1.9.17 040

The Swaying Birch was die-cut from Crumb Cake cardstock.  I used a little, Titanium White acrylic paint to give its edges texture, before tucking it in behind the far left edge of the heart and overhanging the top edge of the scene.  The "love you always" sentiment, from Grateful Heart, was white-embossed on a hand-cut, Basic Black, cardstock pennant and adhered, with foam tape, flush against the right edge of the design.

1.9.17 043

The entire prepped piece was then framed with both white cardstock and black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  Before popping it off the surface of the white, cardstock, card face with foam tape, I wrapped the top of it with a length of Baker's Twine, tied, in a bow, near its left edge, to complete the look.

1.9.17 047

Be sure to stop back by every day, TWICE a day, through Monday, January 23, 2017, to see what my talented teammies have cooked up, using all the new goodies, just for your viewing pleasure. I've got the darling, Young Fox Pair craft die, that you see in action above, to giveaway today.

I'll be back with more from this release next week.  Until then, the rest of the Poppystamps gals have plenty more inspiration coming your way.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be blessed!

Warm Winter Wishes Gift Cards
by Jinny Newlin

Morning, friends!  It's Jinny here today with a quartet of gift-card-wielding, Christmas cards for some of my nieces and nephews.  This is the first year I've turned to gift cards for the little ones, but I never know what to get them, especially being as we never get to see them and don't even know what they have or like.  Matter of fact, I haven't even yet met three of the four of them from my hubby's side of the family.  Then, in the past, when we haven't heard if the gifts were even liked or appreciated, well, it just makes it easier to send gift cards and let them pick out exactly what they want themselves.  At least, then, I'll be assured our precious dollars weren't wasted.  Plus, Poppystamps' Tucked Corner Tag die sure makes the delivery of gift cards ever so fun!

Poppystamps Warm Christmas Wishes Gift Cards - JinnyNewlinThey're all pretty much made the same, so I'll just take you through the making of one.

Poppystamps Warm Foxy Wishes Gift Card - JinnyNewlinI started by watercoloring and splatting a piece of watercolor paper in shades of aqua, turquoise, and green.  I then speckled it with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  Once that was dry, I used the Winter Snowflakes stencil to add a little texture with modeling paste.  While that was drying, I stamped a strip of vellum, in Jet Black ink, with the "WARM CHRISTMAS WISHES" sentiment and anchored it, as well as the watercolored piece itself, to the white, cardstock, card face, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  Before sealing up the far left edge of the vellum strip with more silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching, I tucked a handful of Sparkling Clear and silver star sequins in behind it.

12.12.16 017Our Tucked Corner Tag was then die-cut from white, glitter cardstock; punched with a simple hole in its top; laced with a length of Baker's Twine, tied in a bow; popped off the surface of the card face with foam tape; and embellished with a textured Garden Green cardstock,  Holly Leaf Branch die cut.  Its center, too, was filled in with a Barnes and Noble gift card.

12.12.16 020Finally, I stamped the little fox on watercolor paper; watercolored her; die-cut her out; dressed her up with a little stamped, die-cut, and watercolored scarf; and popped her up, with foam tape, in the bottom left corner of the tag.

12.12.16 023The fox was then swapped out for the deer, otter, and cat, each individually dressed for winter, respectively.  While it's not showing up super good in these photos, they were also detailed with Clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.

12.12.16 027

12.12.16 031

12.12.16 035Thanks so much for humbling us with a visit, and have a truly blessed Christmas, Poppystamps' friends!  Hugs!

Apple Butter Gift Tags
by Jinny Newlin

Morning, y'all!  It's Jinny here today, sharing a couple more of my apple butter gift tags.  For the first one, I turned our Bauble Tree Background die into a tag itself; and for the second, I had lots of fun creating a watercolor scene.

Poppystamps Apple Butter Gift Tags - JinnyNewlinLet's get up close and personal with the first.

Poppystamps Bauble Tree Gift Tag - JinnyNewlinI started this tag by die-cutting the Bauble Tree Background base from Basic Black cardstock and topping it with a die-cut, from silver, glitter cardstock, Merry Bauble Tree.  It's bottom edge was then decked out with a silver-embossed, on a strip of black cardstock, "MERRY CHRISTMAS" sentiment, which I popped up with foam tape.

12.10.16 020A die-cut, from white, glitter cardstock, Ava Snowflake dresses up its middle...

12.10.16 022
and its top was simply punched with a small hole through which to thread white string, which was tied, in a bow, after being laced through a black button and embellished with lots of fabulous, color-coordinating ribbons and trims, tied in bows themselves.

12.10.16 025I used our largest Festival Tags die as a foundation for the second.

Poppystamps Watercolor Gift Tag - JinnyNewlinIt was watercolored and speckled in shades of aqua and turquoise.  I then die-cut the Winter Pine from textured, Garden Green cardstock.  Before popping it out of the die, I sponged it up with VersaMark ink to emboss the layers of snow with white powder.  It was then popped up with foam tape, just as the deer, which was die-cut from Soft Suede cardstock, was.  I couldn't help but give the deer a little, red, rhinestone nose, before splattering everything with Titanium White acrylic paint.

12.10.16 033The "the most wonderful time of the year" sentiment was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, along the vertical right edge of the tag.

12.10.16 014

Before the tag was laced, through a punched hole, surrounded with a die-cut, Crumb Cake cardstock ring, and tied in a bow, another scrumptious, white, glitter, cardstock Ava Snowflake die cut was added, to the tree, to complete the look.

12.10.16 016That covers things, for today, Poppystamps' friends.  Thanks so much for visiting us, and have a terrific Tuesday!
