There's something special about that little crisp breeze this time of year that never fails to spur fall baking in my kitchen, and I always get excited for the holiday season about now.

This fabulous new release of fall dies by Poppystamps has taken my excitement over the edge this year - any of these dies make the perfect embellishments for mini loaf gift boxes!  I'm pretty sure everyone within 10 feet of me will be receiving one over the coming holidays.  The no-fail pumpkin bread recipe, which I'll share with you, is so easy and delicious!

Fullsizeoutput_b9f

I decided to make a shaker card using Poppystamps Dotted Border to add in my shaker.  I used the leftover watercolored paper then cut out as many dots as I could. I love the sound of the dots.

Fullsizeoutput_b9d

I sure love using the Peerles Water Colors to for a  vibrant  look.

The Circle Frames work  so well for shaker cards. I  layered them with cardstock , the second layer is acetate then the rest paper and or fun foam.

Sliding Into Fall with Poppystamps
by Robin Tharaldson

PS Sept 8 Slider Full

It's almost Fall and I'm still wondering where this year has gone! My Fall slider card features the new Autumn Fairies stamp and die sets and the Slider Grooves die set.

PS Sept Slider CU1

My Fall leaves are from the Stitched Maple and Oak Trio die sets. I used the large leaves, left over from my Fall wreath project, on the bottom of my card.

PS Sept Slider CU2

The Autumn Fairie and Acorn appear to fall into the pile of leaves. My sentiment, from the Autumn Fairies stamp set, was heat embossed onto a piece of chocolate cardstock.

PS Sept Slider CU3

The following video will show you how to assemble this slider card AND just to let you know...this is the first slider card I have made! It was much easier than I thought it would be, so give a slider card a try!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fall Thank You Card
by Robin Tharaldson

PS Aug 30 Full

Hi everyone! My post for today features two die sets from Poppystamps 2017 Holiday release, Stitched Oak Trio and Stitched Maple Trio! So many ways to use these beautiful Fall leaves AND the detail is amazing! These dies worked perfectly with my Fall wreath design!  To create the bottom of my card I used the Circle Bump Borders from Memory Box Open Studio. You could also use a circle die from the Circle Basics Set to create the same effect.

PS Aug 30 CU1

On the front of the card I used the Thank You Streamer die.  I cut the die three times and used spray adhesive to layer them together. My wreath is formed on top of a Pointed Circle Frame die to help keep it round!  The sentiment, is from the Little Kindness stamp set.

PS Aug 30 CU2

I used a warm, gold, metallic watercolor to flick onto my card front and wreath.  To finish the card I added my sentiment die cut, again using spray adhesive, and a natural twine bow!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sending Hugs and Prayers
by Marybeth Lopez

Download-3

Hi there, Marybeth here today! I am sharing a card I created with Poppy Stamps: Sending Scribbles and Sending Scribbles die set. Even though this is one stamp and die set it has many different ways to use it and I think the sentiments are perfect for many uses, seems to be my go to set right now.

Fullsizeoutput_a86

I used my Zig Brush pens, to color in my cut and stamped image. Since I used watercolor card stock I didn't  have to add much water as the paper drinks up the brush pens very well, and I wanted to keep the vibrant color. I scored some random lines across my white panel for some added texture.

Fullsizeoutput_a87

Here is a picture of the dies and stamp set. If you look closely you can see I  have a cut out and stamped... Sending... sentiment  that I decided not to use this time. Instead I just tamped the sentiment with a soft gray ink.

Download-4

I used some pinkish orange and fall-ish colors for this card since its almost fall and still summer. I am really liking that pumpkin-ish color bloom and might add another one to this card.

Hope you liked it and as you can see anyone can create this card.

Thank you for all the kind comments on the Blog Blitz!

Birthday Wishes
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0017

Hi Poppy fans! I have a bright and happy card for you today, using some of the new stamps and dies just released.

DSC_0012

I've been playing with alcohol inks, learning some of the wonderful things they can do, and created a couple of 'artsy' backgrounds.

DSC_0021

From one of them, I cut 2 jars from the newly released, Jar Collection. Jars are so popular right now, and Poppy's given us 3 sizes in one die set.

DSC_0025

I cut all 3 of the images from Peony Stems and Blossom from watercolor card stock, and stamped with Hero Arts Wet Cement. It's a favorite I use to give a light line to the image I'm watercoloring. The blooms were colored with Zig Clean Colors.

DSC_0016

My sentiment is from is from Sending Scribbles, stamped with Wet Cement on a homemade banner.

See the doilies around the mouth of the jars? They are dies cuts from one of the new, Petit Four Stitched Borders.

DSC_0019

A closeup of the jars shows how I removed some of the color around the edges with a copic 0. By using the 0 pen, you can also add hi lights and suggest a bottom to the jars. I drew in the stems to the flowers with copic W5.

Hope you enjoyed my card and how it was done, and are inspired to play with some of the fabulous new stamps and dies!

Blog Blitz Believe in Miracles
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0007 2

Hi and welcome to more of the new and just released, Poppystamps Dies and Clear Stamps! Today I'm showcasing Pinecone Branch Collage, a  positive/negative die.

DSC_0010

Pinecone Branch Collage gives you the die cut branch, and the negatively cut petals of the pinecones, which allows you to fill in the die cut holes with colored card stock, or allow the color from beneath to peek through.

Here's how I made this card.

DSC_0043

First centered and cut the die from white card stock. Notice I sponge inked a bit to give it a 'glow'.

DSC_0041

Next I sponge inked an A2 sized card front, mostly on the edges, and die cut a window using Poppystamps, Pointed Circle Frames (2nd largest). Love this die! It gives you 3 pieces which allows the use of all or one piece. I used all 3 pieces for this card. Before cutting the circle, I mixed Perfect Pearls and water and spritzed the entire card and let it dry. I also cut the circle 3 more times, so I could pop up the rim on the window.

DSC_0047

From the circle, I cut the word 'believe' from Poppy's Believe Loose Script die.

DSC_0050

The rest of the sentiment was stamped on the front using Poppy's Do You Believe Clear Stamps.

DSC_0008

Here's a photo closeup of the sheen on all the pieces. Also you can see the piecing on the pinecones, and just a bit of distress glitter on the branch and petals.

DSC_0014

The inside of the card features stenciling done with 2 more newly released dies, Double Pinecone Collage, and Wispy Pine Needle Corner, and more of the sentiments from Do You Believe. I hope to finish the insides of my holiday cards as they're completed. Sure helps during the busy holidays to have them done and ready to go!

Don't forget, it's a Blog Blitz. Leave a comment for a chance to win this beautiful holiday die!

Holiday Blog Blitz: Holly Twig
by Jinny Newlin

Morning, y'all!  It's Jinny here today, sharing a few new goodies from our latest 2017 Holiday Release.  Please forgive my photography skills, though.  White is super hard for me to photograph, but it's ever so striking in real life.  Enjoy!

Poppy Season's Greetings Jar - JinnyNewlin

I started this card by rubbing Broken China Distress Ink, through the Winter Scattered Snowflakes designer stencil, onto the center of the white cardstock, card face.  Over the stenciling, I created the scene with die cuts, beginning with an older Ava Snowflake, die-cut from white cardstock.  The rest of the die cuts all came from this latest release.  The Double Pine Cone Collage was die-cut from Chocolate Chip cardstock.  Tip:  Use the negative die cut as a template for gluing each of those little bits into their proper places.  The Wispy Pine Needles were die-cut from Old Olive cardstock.  The Holly Twig, which you have the opportunity to win on the blog today (Woot!  Woot!), was die-cut from Soft Suede and Garden Green cardstocks; and Xmas Red Stickles was used for the berries.  Finally, the Cute Fawn was die-cut from watercolor paper and watercolored.

8.8.17 027

I then die-cut the largest jar, from the new Jar Collection craft dies, in the center of a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" white, glitter paper.  A strip of vellum was gold-embossed with the "season's greetings" sentiment, taken from our Christmas Greetings stamp set, and adhered along the vertical, left edge of the backside of the die-cut jar, sandwiched between the glitter paper and a sheet of clear cardstock.  The edges of the glitter paper were then framed with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  Tip:  Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, machine-stitching the glitter paper and clear cardstock together also ensures that they stay put for the long haul.

8.8.17 033

The prepped, jar panel was then popped up, with foam tape, over everything else; but before it was adhered in place, I added lots of white glitter, to the scene itself, to create a shaker effect.  Tip:  Apply a thin layer of baby powder over all the glued bits, as well as to the backside of the clear cardstock, to prevent the glitter from sticking itself in all the wrong places.  The lid was die-cut from gold cardstock; hand-cut along its bottom edge; adhered to the top of the jar; and embellished with a couple of Garden Green cardstock, Holiday Holly die cuts, as well as a double, white, seam binding ribbon bow, studded with a single, white pearl, to complete the look.

8.8.17 037

Be sure to stop back by every day through next Tuesday, August 14, 2017, to see what my talented teammies have cooked up, using all the newly-released goodies, just for your viewing pleasure.  AND don't forget to leave lots of love as you visit; because a new, Holiday Release product is being randomly given away on EACH AND EVERY Poppystamps' blog post.  You have until Thursday, August 17, 2017, to do so.  Winners will be announced, right here on the blog, the following Friday, August 18, 2017.  As I said before, I've got that fabulous Holly Twig craft die, that you see in action above, to giveaway today.

That's it, from me, for today, friends.  Actually, that's it, from me, for Poppystamps.  It's my time to move on; but before I do, I have to send out a massive thank you to Jeanne for her friendship and loyalty.  She has unwaveringly believed in me and, without a doubt, been my biggest cheerleader.  I also wanted to thank Dave for giving me the opportunity to work with his gorgeous and intricate dies.  I have been stretched creatively beyond my wildest imagination but, truly, in such a good way.  And finally, thank you to each and every one of YOU, my faithful followers.  I hope this won't be the end for us and that you'll continue to come along with me on my creative journey.  What's in store is sure to surprise you as much as it does me, but I can't wait to see what it may be!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and good luck with ALL the glorious prizes during release week!  Be blessed!
