Magical Birthday
by Marybeth Lopez

Hello to you all!  Thanks for stopping by today!

I have this sweet little Princesses Faerie die that I am using and I have to say I think she adorable!

I have a few granddaughters that will love this card not to mention, quite a few grand nieces.

On the wings I used a combination of chunky and fine white glitter .

I ran some white card stock through my Xyron tape runner  so I wouldn't  have to use any glue for the glitter or the layers.

Since it's a delicate piece I layered it twice, the Xyron makes that so easy ! The top layer has  a sticky top so the glitter

worked perfectly and covered nicley!

I adhered the body to some watercolor card stock , used fun foam behind the panel, then stamped my image.

I decided last minute to tilt my panel just a bit, making sure it would still stand on its own and also fit in the envelop.

I stamped my sentiment soft stone ink, I wanted the Faerie to be front and center!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Floral Dancer
by Nancy Penir

Hi everyone. Hope you all enjoyed the blitz. So many wonderful new dies and stamp sets.

I've been playing a bit with the new Floral Dancer,

and have a card to show you.

Nancy Floral Watermark copy

I created a background with Memory Box Stencil: Garden Peony Blossoms, inking it

with Ranger's New Oxide Inks.

I always ink a few card fronts at one time, love having them handy for future cards.

Next, I die cut Floral Dancer 3 times, stacking & gluing them together for depth.

Next comes the fun of painting and embossing my dancer!

I first painted the image with Finetec Pearls, and finished by selectively embossing

with Stampendous Shabby Blue and Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel.

I also embossed some paper flowers with the pink enamel to match the garland.

I cut and embossed extra end pieces of the garland to add onto and hang over, the ends.

Before Gluing her down, the sentiment die, Make a Wish (Poppy) was added.

This Floral Dancer die is so versatile, imagining what could be done with color and background is endless!

Hope you enjoyed what I've shared today!

Sweet Pea Faeries
by Sue McRae

Hello crafters, Sue here with a sparkly card featuring a few of the products from the newest Poppystamps release.

For my background I used Distress Inks to create a soft palette of pink, purple and blue.

I die cut the Sweet Pea flower from purple and pink glitter card stock and die cut the flower head from purple vellum and used the vellum for one layer of the petals. The vellum breaks up the flower design and gives it an airy feel.

The Playful Mini Faeries (there's three in the set) are a perfect size for fluttering around the flower and I love how one of them fits perfectly for standing on the flower stem.

Since I was on a glitter roll I pulled out some white glitter card stock and die cut a bunch of Leafy Sprigs to use as grass and I grounded the design with a piece of blue glitter card stock.

I finished off with a sentiment from the Fairy Greetings stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Hello Birthday Girl
by Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to the Poppystamps Blog! I hope to provide you with some inspiration using dies, stencil and glimmer paste. I have used several Poppystamps dies to create this one of a kind card. Today I have a Very Special card that I have made for my Mother  for her 79th Birthday, she has Dementia and I am her Caregiver Daizypoppy

First I created my background panel, using a stitched oval Memory Box CO die and a Memory Box stencil (diapers) to push the Nuvo Glimmer paste through. I used a Purple shade. Allow some dry time before removing the stencil, however do not let it dry completely.

Oval stencil on a 4.25 x 5.5 panel for stencil mask. Then add the stencil and line up with another panel of the same size, you will cut it down to 3.75 x 5 after it's done and dried.

Spread the Nuvo Glimmer Paste through the stencil with a spatula, allow to semi dry and remove stencil before it drys completely.

I used pop dots behind the daisies for dimension. Glitter Glue to flower centers.

Have a Magical Birthday
by Jinny Newlin

Morning, y'all!  It's Jinny here today, sharing my big sister's magical, garden, birthday card.  Enjoy!

Poppy Have a Magical Birthday - JinnyNewlin

I started this card by stamping those Watercolor Wildflowers, that I simply cannot get enough of, in Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door, and Peeled Paint Distress Inks, on watercolor paper.  I then spritzed over them with water to get more of a watercolor effect and splattered everything with those same shades of Distress Inks mentioned above, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  That set the foundation for my garden.  While it was drying, I pieced together the Blooming Poppy with Real Red, Basic Black, and Garden Green cardstock die cuts and the Ragged Daisy with white, Daffodil Delight, and Lucky Limeade cardstock die cuts.  Once they were adhered, in their respective positions, to the watercolor piece, I grounded them with a Preppy Flowers, Wild Wasabi cardstock die cut.

5.20.17 042

The prepped piece was then anchored, to the Pistachio Pudding cardstock card face, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  The Magnificent Mini Faeries were die-cut from Basic Black and white cardstocks; pieced together; and adhered, with foam tape, within the garden itself.  Their wings also got a healthy dose of Clear Wink of Stella for shimmer and shine.

5.20.17 047

I then die-cut the Pinpoint Balloons from Coastal Cabana cardstock; adhered them, in their respective locations; also gave them some shimmer and shine with Clear Wink of Stella, coated with Glossy Accents; and anchored them to the faeries' fists with hand-penned strings.

5.20.17 052

The black-embossed, "HAVE A magical BIRTHDAY" sentiment, from Fairy Greetings, completes the look.

Thanks so much for humbling us with a visit, Poppystamps friends!  Have a terrific Tuesday!  Hugs!

I colored a white  paper with Peerless Watercolors from Birch Press Design, . This is the background of my fairy.

Because the card will be presented as a gift to a teenager, my daughter's friend, I added a lot of pink color and glitter additive.

Happy Birthday
by Marybeth Lopez

Fullsizeoutput_600 Watermark copy

Hello from sunny California! Marybeth here today! I have a fun watercolor,  yet simple birthday card using

Happy Birthday Bold and Happy Birthday Outline dies from Poppystamps .

Fullsizeoutput_601 Watermark copy

I haven't done a watercolor background  in a while but after seeing a video on one I gave it another try.

PicMonkey Collage Poppystamps Watermark copy

I ran my card stock through a Xyron to add adhesive to the back for both layers. You have a choice to use, the thick outline or the thin. I chose the thick for the center of my Happy Birthday. After I was all done placing the darker color on top of the white, I placed the negative over my card as a guide to make sure it was spaced evenly. That's It!

I hope you like it! I think this would be great for either a girl or boy! Happy to have this one on hand and can't wait to make a few more!

Pretty Preppy Flowers
by Sue McRae

Hi everyone, Sue here with a spring floral card.

I started by water colouring a blue background for my scene. Nothing fancy, just a quick wash of blue paint on water colour paper. After this was dry I took one of the dies from Delicate Stitches and created a frame on the background and then added a sentiment from the Ornamental Butterflies stamp set.

For the Preppy Flowers I randomly painted yellow, pinks and reds on water colour card stock and die cut the flowers from it. This way the flowers are uniquely coloured in an easy and quick way. Once the flowers were dry I brushed a thin layer of glue on them and sprinkled Distress Rock Candy Glitter on top. Since the glitter is clear you can still see the colours underneath and it gives the flowers a bit of sparkle.

I wanted a feeling of whimsy, like the flowers were swaying in the breeze so I decided to add a layer of vellum flowers behind the first layer and I really like how that turned out.

I figured a field of flowers needed a few fluttering friends so I used the Butterfly Sprinkles dies to add some butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Watercolored Birthday Shakers
by Jinny Newlin

Morning, y'all!  It's Jinny here today.  I trust you all had a fantastic, holiday weekend!  My family and I had a truly wonderful, resurrection celebration together in the morning and were blessed to get to spend a little time with extended family in the afternoon.  Easter Sunday happened to also be my dad's birthday; and if it's okay with you, I'd like to share the card I made for his special day, with you all, today.

Poppy Blue Happy Birthday Bold - JinnyNewlin

I started this card by adding a gradient of blue watercolor to the 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" watercolor paper, card base.  Once it was dry, I adhered a variety of sizes in a gradient of cardstock, Pinpoint Balloon die cuts, trailing just right of vertical center, using Brilliant Blue, Ballet Blue, Brocade Blue, Bordering Blue, and Bashful Blue cardstocks.

4.15.17 013

The Happy Birthday Bold die cut serves as my sentiment.  It was die-cut from a wide strip of white cardstock; backed with a sheet of clear acetate; and secured, in its present, angled position, with both silver and blue-threaded, straight machine stitching.  Before sealing off the sides of the prepped piece with liquid glue, I snuck a number of Sparkling Clear sequins, along with lots of large and small, silver, star sequins, in behind the sentiment panel.

4.15.17 015

The ends of the blue thread were tied, to the front of the card face, in a textural bow; and a couple strips of silver, glitter paper, adhered to either side of the sentiment panel, complete the look.

4.15.17 017

I'm always running low on birthday cards.  So, I decided to use this same design to knock out a couple more in different colors.

Poppy Happy Birthday Trio - JinnyNewlin

The green alternative was made in the exact same way as above with the exception of using a gradient of green watercolors, green thread, and the combination of Hunter Green, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Lucky Limeade, and Certainly Celery cardstocks for the Pinpoint Balloons.

Poppy Green Happy Birthday Bold - JinnyNewlin

The pink number used a gradient of pink watercolors, bright pink thread, and the combination of Rose Red, Strawberry Slush, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, and Pink Pirouette cardstocks for the Pinpoint Balloons.

Poppy Pink Happy Birthday Bold - JinnyNewlin

Thanks so much for humbling us with a visit!  Have a terrific Tuesday, Poppystamps friends!
