Hello, Spring!
by Jennifer Svare

Spring Window Card Thumbnail

It may be snowing outside, but springtime's in full bloom in the craft room today!

These cards were made using watercolor note cards that have been sitting around forever. I love the thick, soft texture that these cards have... and now I'm wondering why they sat on the shelf so long!

The beautiful Floral Stem Collage creates a window. I enlarged the window by hand cutting to fit the Double Stitch Rectangle Frame.  By leaving the inner frame a little smaller than the double stitch frame, it created a look of inner matting.

The Devyn Butterfly Trio has to be one of my favorite dies. The style is so versatile and elegant.  Because the dies cut three sizes at once, it made it very easy to incorporate them on the exterior of the card, interior, and exterior of the envelopes.

The speckles on the vellum were made using the FineTec Pearlescent Watercolor palette from Birchpress Design.  I put a light coat on the main flower, as well.

I love how using a combination of pastels, together with the dies, creates a wonderful gift with an early springtime feel.

Thank you for stopping by today!  There are more details here in the video below:
