Fall Release Blog Blitz + Adhering Thin Die Cuts
by Rebecca Keppel

Rk poppystamps halloween release 2017 card1

Halloween is right around the corner! And just like those adorable costumed kitties, I couldn't be more excited! I think I love making Halloween cards as much as Christmas cards! I had a blast stamping and coloring and die cutting all those little cats, but when it came to the Happy Halloween, Crooked Fence and Doodle Jack O Lanterns, I did not have the patience to adhere them so I used a thin double sided adhesive.

Check out this short video to see how I pulled all these elements together and created my card:

This card is part of the Fall Blog Blitz which means that if you comment below you will be in the running to win those adorable Doodle Jack O Lantern dies! Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Witch Collage
by Michele K. Henderson

IMG_4784-wm

Hello Everybody!

Welcome to the Poppystamps Halloween Blog Hop! We are bringing the spooky all week, and throwing in a few treats too just for you! Today I am sharing a spooky CAS shaker created with the brand new Witch Collage. Take a look!

IMG_4789-wm

I love this fun little die! The die itself is actually a circle, so you could make the base of your card any shape you'd like! I made mine super clean and simple in this little square shape.

IMG_4780-wm

I began this card by cutting and folding my card base out of a bright green. I then added a background panel piece of of watercolor paper stamped and spritzed with a few of my favorite Distress Oxide inks.

IMG_4781-wm

I used strips of very sticky foam tape to create a little well for my sequin mix. Thanks to some VERY helpful tips from a few Poppystamps fans, I sprinkled a nice coating of embossing powder all over the foam tape, shook off the excess, then heated it with my heat gun. It worked like a dream! The embossing powder created a little coating on the too sticky tape, allowing my sequins to slide and float with ease!

IMG_4783-wm

I adhered my witch collage panel onto the foam tape with glue, and added a few spooky green sequins. Originally, I had planned to add a few spooky little spiders swinging by, but decided I really like the look of this matte black silhouette witch with the shiny sequins behind her. What might you create?

IMG_4791-wm

Thanks so much for joining us today! Before you go, be sure to leave a comment below for your chance to win this wicked Witch Collage die from Poppystamps! Come back every day for more opportunities to win!

Lots of Dots Challenge Reminder!
by Jennifer Svare

LotsOfDots_JenniferSvare

Hello everyone! More great Fall Blitz inspiration will return soon, but we wanted to take a super quick break to remind you of a fun way to inspire others and win a prize! Have you entered your Lots of Dots challenge card yet? If not, great news! There is still time to create, inspire, and enter the drawing. Entering is easy - details are here.

So, here's my contribution of of dots, dots, and more dots!  The dots on this 5" x 5" card came from patterned paper, the Ball Wreath die, a dotted clouds embossing folder, circle frame, and a dotted border separating the background pieces - even the cheeks on the adorable little Narwhal!

LotsofDots1_Watermark

What I love most about this card is that the dimension is all throughout. There is shadow underneath the ball wreath, lots of stacked layers in the frames. Using circles and a square shape together added to the dimension, as well. So much fun to make!

Check out the video below, and be sure to enter your "lots of dots" card ~ can't wait to see it!

Happy Halloween
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0012

Hello! And welcome to my post featuring Poppystamps newest... Halloween release! It couldn't get more exciting around here, with the new stamps and dies. I get to feature the newest pumpkin set, Swirl Pumpkin and Harvest Pumpkin!

DSC_0016

DSC_0004

Oh how I love this time of year! Changes everywhere, from the weather, to the leaves on trees, fall is definitely in the air. Even the food we eat takes on a pumpkin spice flavor! (Lattes anyone?)

Pumpkin Swirl is everything Poppystamps is known for: perfectly sized and shaped with even the sweetest vine curled on top! And with it's mate, Harvest Pumpkin, you can use just the silhouette or back it with contrast color.

Let's look at how I made this card. I love to create a scene, and with a bit of drama for the Halloween season. Sponge inking a background came first, in colors that will let my pumpkins take center stage.

DSC_0001

Now for a slightly spooky tree...

DSC_0022

I created a stencil with Poppy's Birch Tree die, sponging it with a ghostly gray,  and next made a frame from Poppy's largest Pointed Oval Frames.

DSC_0021

I cut the frame several times to pop it up, then added the sponge inked frame to the top of my stack.

DSC_0009

All 3 pumpkins were cut with glitter paper, and the orange pumpkin popped up with foam. My greeting is also a new die, Happy Halloween Signs. You're going to be seeing this set of sentiments a lot during the release. It's beyond cute, with just a bit of  'Haunted Mansion' flare to it!

Are you excited? You could win the set of your choice by leaving a comment on the different posts all week.

Good Luck, Happy Fall and happy creating!

There's something special about that little crisp breeze this time of year that never fails to spur fall baking in my kitchen, and I always get excited for the holiday season about now.

This fabulous new release of fall dies by Poppystamps has taken my excitement over the edge this year - any of these dies make the perfect embellishments for mini loaf gift boxes!  I'm pretty sure everyone within 10 feet of me will be receiving one over the coming holidays.  The no-fail pumpkin bread recipe, which I'll share with you, is so easy and delicious!

Hi there and welcome to the Poppystamps Halloween Blog Blitz! Always exciting when Poppystamps has new stamps and dies!  If you would like a chance to win this  Creepy Forest Collage  , all you have to do is be sure and leave a comment on this post. . There are some really fun new dies and stamps!

Download-7

I use fun foam when I make a shaker.  I add adhesive and then start laying fun foam on the back and trim where needed , I like it much better then foam tape. I added vellum to the back of the shaker after filling it up with a sequin mix, then I place it on top of the card base. I think the vellum gives it a bit more sound when you shake it.

I sniped the two little ghost from Ghost Collage to add to this little spooky scene , yet still very friendly for some of my younger grand-darlings.

All the Poppystamps products I used are linked below.  Good luck , I hope you win! Its so nice of Dave ( the owner) to let  each of us give away a new product of our choice! That gives you  plenty of chances to win, by leaving a comment . On the post I am giving away the: Creepy Forest Collage!

Fall Release Blog Blitz Begins
by Jeanne Jachna

Ghost-Collage-Two

Thanks for stopping by!  You picked a great day for a visit!  Our Fall Release Blog Blitz begins today!   What?  You're not familiar with our Blog Blitz??? We'll you're going to love this!  For the next several days (September 16-26)  the design team is sharing projects made with the new Fall Release (you can see all the dies and clear stamp sets in the store here).    And as a special treat for you we'll be giving away one of the new dies on every post during the blitz!!  I'll give you all the details at the end of this post.. but first.. let me share a card I made for today!
Ghost-Collage-Six
This is the new Ghost Collage die!  It's a negative die cut that will be great for shaker cards, and treat tags!
Ghost-Collage-Five
I started with a handful of colorful card stock in shades of purple, orange and green.  I cut the Zig Zag Stripes once with each of the colors.  This will give you enough strips to make three cards!
Ghost-Collage-Four
I cut the Ghost Collage with a Circle Layer Die around it to make the white die cut you see in the photo.  I cut a second slightly larger circle from black card stock to place behind the ghosts.
Ghost-Collage-Three
The new Happy Halloween Signs has a gothic look with the fancy end embellishments.  I love that the letters are attached making the sentiment easy to adhere to my design without searching out each letter.
Ghost-Collage-one
A few sequins add the right amount of sparkle.
Ghost-Collage
Do you love the Ghost Collage die?  Want to win one for yourself?

Let me fill you in on all the details ok?
