Love You Always.
by Pam Simpson

IMG_0015-crop

Hello everyone Pam here today..

Sharing a card I made for someone special.  This new Poppystamp Schaefer Curve die can be cut into a card placing anywhere   or die cut to use on its own.

P

A/  I have placed the two dies in the set  to cut an oval shape on my 5" square card.. Tape down well  you do not want these dies to move and get damage OR you can cut separate.

You would use this 1/2 oval die shape along the left hand edge to create a separate floral cut.

B/ this is the cut out as shown.

Po

C/ I have placed Memory box .Open Studio. Stitched Oval Layers  3rd & 5th (from outer edge) size to judge size I need to make a frame.

D/ Frame adhered as shown.

Stitched Easter Greetings
by Jeanne Jachna

Easter-Bunny-Four

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a great weekend!  There's lots of new Easter dies in the store and I really wanted to make one with the Easter Egg Party dies.  I wanted to show all the different dies in the set (there are 5 patterned eggs) and came up with this fun quilted  card.
Easter-Bunny-One
Don't you just love all that pretty stitching in the background?  This one was a little tricky so let me show you how it was made!  First a little measuring!  I decided to make four rows with four eggs in each row.
Easter-Bunny-Five
I cut a white card stock panel slightly smaller than that of an A2 size card - 4" x 5 1/4".  Next I divided the panel into squares.  You can see where I scored the rows.   The scoring was really helpful in aligning the dies for the stitches.  I could easily see where to place the border dies (I used two different dies from the Delicate Stitches Set.    I have a magnetic plate on my cutting machine that held the dies in place nicely.
Easter-Bunny-Six
When the border dies were complete I added the Happy Easter Curve die and trimmed off the excess so the edges were even with the card panel.
Easter-Bunny-Seven
I wanted to point out that I lost a tiny bit of paper where the two sets of stitches cut over each other.    Mistakes happen and to me quite often!! LOL!!   No worries - you can cover up any imperfections with embellishments like gems or sequins.  I covered this up with a little bunny and I don't think anyone would notice if I didn't share it!
Easter-Bunny-Three
I double cut all the eggs - once from gold foil and once from colored card stock.   I actually inlaid all the eggs.  If this isn't "you're thing" you can use the Stitched Egg Medley dies to place behind the die cut eggs in the Easter Egg Party.  I don't mind paper piecing - it's a labor of love and I really like how it looks when they're all done - nice and smooth!
Easter-Bunny-Two
I put a small piece of washi on the back of the die cut and then inserted the pieces - that little bit of washi held each piece in place.  When I adhered them on the card with liquid glue they were completely secure.
Easter-Bunny-Four
Here's where my little "boo boo" was.. before you saw it.. now you don't.  That little rabbit from Bunny Hop looks like he was meant to be there doesn't he? You can see from the sprinkle of sequins that it would be easy to hide other mistakes.
Easter-Bunny-Eight
Isn't all that gold just yummy?
Easter-Bunny
I love the quilted look of the design... AND I got all the different eggs on to one card!  LOL!! What will you make today???

Wishing You Lucky
by Jeanne Jachna

   Lucky-Irish-Four

Thanks for stopping by!  I sure hope you're having a great day!  Today I'm wishing you luck and happiness with a St. Patrick's Day Card!    I like sending cards for all different occasions - they're a great way of spreading a little cheer and letting folks know you're thinking about them.  I'm not Irish, but I sure love celebrating!  It's easy to let occasions like this one slip away without much fanfare, but it's even more fun to celebrate them - to appreciate and enjoy every day and embrace the diversity of different nationalities.   When my kids were little and going to parochial school they were always allowed to add a little green in with their uniforms.    I remember one of the teachers who was a very proud Irish lady even died her hair green!  The kids were all so excited!  How fun to make a "regular" day special!
 Lucky-Irish-Two
I started with a white card base and a white card stock panel that was trimmed slightly smaller than the base.   Next I cut the Simmons Collage die down the left side and stamped a sentiment from Grateful Hearts along the side.
Lucky-Irish-Five
I slipped a panel of gold glitter paper behind the panel before adhering it to the card base.  I didn't remove all the pieces from the Simmons Collage die cut because I wanted a background behind the Lucky Clover Embellishments.  Leaving some of the die together still gives a die cut / embossed look of  lace at the bottom, and lets just enough sparkle shine through over the top half of the card.

Lucky

My favorite part is embellishing!  The Lucky clovers are gorgeous.. take a look.. pretty stitched outline and score lines through the center of the leaves so you can fold them and add more dimension.  The Lucky Signs dies have a smaller version of the same clover, a horse shoe and even a wishbone!  Very lucky indeed!
Lucky-Irish-Three
I added a scatter of gold sequins to draw your eye around the design and add some sparkle and shine!
Lucky-Irish-One

I hope it makes you happy!   What will you make today?

Grateful Heart
By Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to the Poppystamps Blog! Oh my gosh I did it again a card with a heart on it.

Poppyheartrainbow

I love simple cards to convey a powerful message. I created a rainbow background using a sponge blending technique and then adding versamark and a glittered embossing powder.

Then the top panel with the the die cut is mounted with foam dots to raise the panel for a dimension effect. I also stamped and mounted my sentiment.

Flatgrateful

Have a fabulous day.

You're A Star!
by Sue McRae

Welcome crafters, Sue here with a card today!

P1340981c

I have a hard time making cards for the guys or for teenagers. Feminine card just seem easier to create so I decided to put away the flowers dies and stamps and not let myself use any glitter or any pink or purple and this is what I came up with.

I started off with a piece of water color paper, sprayed it with water, sprinkled on Color Bursts and just let the pigment do its thing. While this was drying I die cut a bunch of stars from dark grey card stock using the Scribble Trio set. This die set has three fun shapes: a star, square and circle. I adhered the stars all over the dried background.

P1340997c

For the sentiment I took the Spectacular Happy Birthday set (which consists of three dies) and die cut the bottom layer in a medium grey, the middle layer in dark grey and the sentiment in white. The sentiment is made from 4 layers of the white card stock for a thick chipboard look.

To finish off I added a few small stars die cut with the Superstar Sash.

Thanks for visiting us today!

Serene Rabbit
by Michele K. Henderson

IMG_4638-wm

Hello Everyone!

This warm weather has me thinking about all things green and springy! So I created this adorable little bunny card that has a wonderful open and embossed texture and feel. Take a look!

IMG_4635-wm

I used an old favorite, the Kaysen Oval Frame, along with brand new dies from our latest release, Serene Rabbit, Easter Egg Party, and Bellen Corner.  I also added a little "secret technique" with this cheerful card. By adding die cuts, such as embellished corners or curly cues the same color as the background, you can create an "embossed" pattern as simple or as detailed as you'd like. For this card, I just used the Bellen Corner to add a little fancy texture in the corners. It's another great way to get your dies to work for you, cutting, stenciling, and "embossing."

Thank you so much for joining us today!

Fullsizeoutput_30d

Hello, Marybeth here today! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! We had lots of rain here again in California!

Thought it would be fun to make a Easter card with the darling new Poppystamps dies:  Stitched Egg Medley, Bunny Hop and Happy Easter Curve.

Fullsizeoutput_30e

 Watermark copy

The bunnies are layered 3 times, the first layer is a softer gray card stock to give a bit of interest to the layers with one being a bit darker.

The eggs are glued on and a few are with  popped up with a bit of thin foam tape. The front panel is raised using fun foam.  Easy card, once you figure out your layout. :)

I love those little bunnies and detailed Easter eggs!

Dream Butterfly.
by Pam Simpson

Hello everyone, think Poppystamps DT are loving these New Release Butterfly dies,  a few of us seem to be using them! unless we are all hoping for Spring weather to arrive..

IMG_9961-crop

This "Dream Butterfly" die from the new release is 3.1/2" wide when flat.  so I just arranged on a corner with foliage.

IMG_9952

No background matching die, so I embossed this butterfly in my die cutting machine, then cut around with scissors, as shown.

Using the cutout butterfly in blue card  (as below) I have adhered to the embossed one.. using Pro marker I added some colour and glitter to the background, with random brown dots with marker pen.

IMG_9957-crop

adhered plain white cut out butterfly  just the middle section, so these wings are loose. I  hot glued to the card with some  ribbon mesh.

IMG_9960-crop

These two border sides are "Tendril Dream Frame"  just enough on this card with this sweet "Hello" brown with a whit shadow,  foliage "Monterey Vine" with a few Butterfly Sprinkles in brown..

finished card 7.1/2"x 6.1/2".. cut in Aqua and White.

Thank you for stopping by Pam.
