Mini Stamps Blog Blitz - Ornamental Butterflies
by JJ Bolton

Jjbolton_ornamentalbutterflies1f

Hi guys! I'm continuing the Mini Stamp Blog Blitz with two cards using the Ornamental Butterflies stamp set and coordinating die set!  I have a soft spot for butterflies, so I was so happy to see these sets!  For my first card, I used the butterfly die to create a negative die cut that I backed with an ink-blended background.

Jjbolton_ornamentalbutterflies1b

For a little added detail, I heat embossed in clear the swirly design inside the butterfly.  Here's a close up of the embossing...

Jjbolton_ornamentalbutterflies1a

I also made another quickie card using all of the butterfly dies and a piece of watercolored paper that I had saved for a rainy day project.

Jjbolton_ornamentalbutterflies2

When I have my watercolors out, sometimes I make four or five sheets at a time.  This rainbow piece fit perfectly behind the die cut butterflies.  I put the sentiment on a piece of vellum so it would not cover up much.  So easy!

IMG_8592-crop

You have a few choices how to use these stamps, they look beautiful used as  two step stamping with different ink shades  onto your card or as I have done stamp and cut with the matching die layering up, I still used blue ink shades and three of the stamps.

Joined

I used the three stamps on the bottom row  from the stamp set, on the card top flower layered up! bottom single flower.

Leaves in white card stamped green ink and die cut from the set of clear stamps, as is the sentiment.

I had to use  some glitter!!

Also used to create this card.. Poppystamps "Freida Leaf"  "Butterfly Sprinkles" with memory box.. Open Studio.. Pinpoint Rectangle layers and Distressed Addington Collage dies.

Beautiful Day
by Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to the Poppystamps Mini Blog Blitz for a new stamps! I chose the Ornamental Butterflies Set and created this beautiful geometric card.

Beautifulday

I used a technique called second generation stamping on the butterflies to give the effect of different shades of the same color. Then stamped the scrolls in the darker color. The red butterflie was stamped using a rock n roll technique.

Beautifulday2

The sentiment beautiful day was stamped. Then Glossy accents, wink of stella, trails and bling were added.

Hi everyone

Another Blog Blitz day today so let me introduce you to new stamp set called Ornament Butterflies.

Once butterfly is cut you have tones of possibilities really. You can add normal stamp or even emboss ornaments. And this is exactly what you can see on my card - two of the butterflies are embossed and the other three have a stamp.

As usual I used water color paint to make that fantastic background.

Finally I added turquise frame and some sequins.

Hope you will enjoy that :)

Flower Patch
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Everyone!

Are you falling in love with all these amazing new Poppystamps Clear Stamps? Today I'm sharing my very favorite, Flower Patch!

IMG_3025-wm

I was so excited when I opened this set, I immediately began to play around with the images, trying different leaf and petal combinations. The possibilities are endless! I finally decided to create two crisp, summery one layer stamped tags!

IMG_3021-wm

For my round tag, I layered rose petals and the Thank You sentiment. It reminds me of an embroidery pattern or a watercolor swatch - -vintage and modern at the same time!

IMG_3022-wm

For my second tag, I focused on the tiny blooms and leaves, creating a little meadow full of wildflowers! I added "Make Today Amazing" as the sentiment. All of these images are from the same Flower Patch stamp set.

IMG_3023-wm

The Flower Patch stamp set coordinates perfectly with the Flower Patch Die Set! I can't wait to use these again and again!

Mini Stamps Blog Blitz Begins - No Truffle
by Jeanne Jachna

Morel-Support-Five
You picked a great day for a visit!  We're starting another blog blitz ! That's right!  This week we'll be showing you the newest STAMPS and coordinating die sets from Poppystamps!  And yes!  There is a prize on every single post starting with this one!  Today I'm showing the No Truffle At All set!  This stamp set features .. you guessed it.. mushrooms.   There's lots of fun accessories to build a scene including flowers, grass and a cute little snail!  I had to laugh at those eyes!  There's even several punny sentiments to choose from that will have you smiling too!
Morel-Support-Two
I created the background for this card by using the Stitched Landscapes die as a mask.  I inked in grass with distress ink, and then flipped the mask over and inked in the sky.   Next I die cut a few Fluffy Clouds, stamped some grass and the sentiment.
Morel-Support-One
The coordinating die set has a die cut for each of the images in the set.  I stamped the images with Memento Ink, colored them with Copics and then die cut them.  Some of the images I adhered directly to the card base, for others I used adhesive foam tape to give a little dimension.
Morel-Support-Three
The finishing touch was a sprinkle of butterflies.
Morel-Tag
I wanted to create a scene that was completely flat - to show that you can make a fun scene even if you don't want to invest in the coordinating die cuts.  This was stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copics.
Morel-Tag-One
Ok here's the details you want to read..    We're just showing the new stamps this week -  May 25 - 31.  If you'd like a chance to win one of the new sets you need to leave a comment.  You need to leave a comment on EACH of the posts that you wish to enter.  One winner will be chosen at random from each of he posts to receive the stamp set featured on that post.     You have until Midnight 12 am US EST June 2 to leave comments.   Winners will announced on June 4.

Today's prize..   The No Truffle At All Stamp Set.

Good luck and thanks as always for being the best crafty friends ever!

Celebrate
by Lezlye Lauterbach

Welcome to the Poppystamps blog! Today is my Mother's 78th Birthday! SO I made her this card using Pippystamps Dies and a memory box stencil.

Celebratepoppy

It's so much fun to use a stencil and white ink on a dark cardstock, very eye popping and creating your own back ground! I layered blue and whit sentiments for a shadowed effect.

All the balloons were cut out and layered with foam tape for dimension with foam squares. Strings were glued behind each balloon. A different idea would be to tie the strings on each balloon end. I  trimmed the tops of the balloons that were hanging over the card edge.

Summertime
by Michele K. Henderson

IMG_3015-wm

Summertime, and the living is easy! Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a card that has been on my mind all week! I have just returned from a glorious trip to Charleston, South Carolina, and summer is on my mind! This is the perfect card for your friends down South, because this is exactly how we Southerners like to spend our hot summer days, on a welcoming chair under a shady tree!

IMG_3013-wm

This card was very easy to make, even though it looks detailed and a little fussy. The new Weeping Willow Archway does all the work for you! I added the Weeping Willow Branches behind the frame in the darker green to give the tree a little more depth. The Gentle Wave Collage gave me a nice little artsy hill, so my Left and Right Cafe Chairs weren't quite hovering in the air. The finishing touch is the little coral bird from the Serendipity Bird Frame.

Check out even more great inspiration and ideas from our Poppystamps design team, and play along with our current challenge, Pretty in Pink!
