Adorable kitties

Hello crafty friends, Yoonsun here.

Next Friday is one of my closest friend's birthday. She has three cats and I think she prefers cats to people ;) So I used adorable kitties for her birthday card! I bet it will make her super happy!!

To create the card, I used Large Madison Window set, Cozy & Friendly Kitties. It is so easy to make. I die cut them from the colour card stocks and then mounted them on the yellow card base using dimensional foam tape. For the sentiment, I stamped it from Into the Words Stamp set with black pigment ink. Lastly, I added mixed clear sequins for finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Flowers and Butterflies.

Hello everyone Pam here today.

Not my normal colors on this card Blue & Gold.. I wanted to use Gold embossing Paste through  part on a stencil and while wet I added micro beads for texture, this I did first of all and built my card around it..

Beautiful sheen this Gold Paste hard to capture in a photo!..

This blue glittered flower from an early release  is Poppystamps "Delicate Mum" die,  used two in the center of the panel with "Lorelai leaf" edges ink with Distress ink  Stormy Sky.

Butterflies I colored with "Wink of Stella pens"  glitter orange  &  glitter gold.

In the frame I cut four Open Studio "Stitched Country Borders"  inked the edges and adhered to the inside panel.

Thank you for calling by.. happy crafting  Pam x.

My Go To Birthday Die

01-Richard outside

I don't know if you have "Go To" dies, but I sure do.  Birthdays seem to sneak up on me, and sometimes I just don't have much time to create.  This die is the PERFECT die for those rush days.  I made the base of this card 5 x6.  This gave me a bit of extra space for frames and ribbon.  I die cut the Happy Birthday background using a black glitter paper and before you ask....it cut like butter.

I placed the die cut piece onto a silver glitter paper that was cut slightly larger than the die cut piece. I added a piece of glitter ribbon and a buckle, I die cut the word Happy using a piece of red glitter scrap, added a red gem and the front of this card was finished.  I layered the piece onto a black base that when folded measured 5 x 6.  I've made this card many, many times in all colors.  It's flat when mailing makes my pocket book happy.

Here's the inside:

02-Richard Inside

The inside practically makes itself!  When the letters release from the die, they are perfect to use on the inside.  I love the combination of black, red and silver.  I think this makes a great man's card and if you are like me....men cards are a difficult make.

I'm leaving tomorrow for Australia.  I'm looking forward to loads of Grammy time with my three grandkids.  It will be fun having my state side grandson with my down under grandkids.  So, my next posts will be coming from Australia and New Zealand.

Until next time....Happy Crafting and Hugs,

Embossing Die Cuts

Hi everyone, Sue here.  Today I want to talk about using other mediums on our die cuts to add texture and visual interest.

Hand In There Closeup

Most of the time we use white or coloured card stock with our dies and may use a medium such as ink, paint or glitter.  But what about using embossing powders or flock on die cuts? These products have been around for ages and are inexpensive to add to our stash.  They also come in oodles of different colours.

Poppystamps Embossed Weeping Willow

I die cut the Weeping Willow Branches from white card stock, used a Versamark ink pad (or any clear embossing ink) to cover the die cut, sprinkled it with a verdigris embossing powder (there are several colours in this powder) and heat set it.  Such an easy way to get some texture.

Poppystamps Embossed Kitty

I did the same thing with one of the Friendly Kitties die cut, this time using an embossing powder that has several shades of brown and brown glitter in it.

Poppystamps Fun Flock

For the last die cut I added double sided adhesive to white card stock, die cut the kitty and added fun flock on top of the adhesive.  Instant kitty softness!

Poppystamps Embossed Die Cuts

I used textured card stock for the card base and for the grass to add visual interest.  I also cut another Weeping Willow, this time from vellum to place behind the embossed Weeping Willow. This also adds depth and texture.

Hang In There Card

Did you know Poppystamps has Digital Dies that can be used with electronic die cut machines?  They can all be found here.  I used the Butterfly Chain Border Digital Die to create my butterflies, which were cut from white card stock and coloured with inks.

Hang In There

Thanks for visiting with me and I hope I've inspired you to try out some of these techniques.

A Time To Celebrate

Hello Poppystamps fans! I have a card to share with you today using some of the very fun scene building dies! I love creating little scenes on my cards, and Poppystamps  has some that work wonderfully for this purpose!

I started by cutting a stitched rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Layers from Memory Box out of watercolor paper. I sponged Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress ink on it covering the entire piece, and flicked water on it with my paintbrush.  I then cut out three more of the same stitched rectangle with three different shades of green card stock. I cut them at slightly different layering links using the Stitched Landscapes dies. I layered these onto my sponged background popping up the very front layer with foam tape. I cut out the trees using the Stick Trees and Stick Tree Tops, and adhered the pieces together. I then used foam tape, and adhered those to to scene, sticking the bottom edges under the popped up hill. I cut some clouds out using the Circle Forest Scene from Memory Box, and glued them up in the sky.

I then cut out a green leafy sprig, and glued it to the right side, tucking it just under the popped up hill layer. I cut some white flowers with the Johnny Jump Ups die, and added them with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment from the Into The Words stamp set with black ink, and added a few white dots with my gel pen.

Thank you so much for stopping by the Poppystamps blog! Have a great day!
