Happy New Year

01-calendar copy

Happy New Year Everyone.  May 2015 be filled with Health, Happiness, Love and loads of Creative Moments.  Another year is about to be put to bed and as I think about the New Year, I am enjoying looking through past blog entries and reliving fun times I've shared with Poppystamps, the Design Team and of course each of you.

I like desk calendars, and even though my computer calendar keeps me on track, there is something special about a handmade calendar.  The calendar I'm sharing today will be used to remind me of  the birthday of family and friends.  I'm using sequins to mark the dates.

Earlier in the month I shared a place card I made for seating at Christmas dinner.  This calendar is made the same way, with one difference.  My place cards were 4x4.  This calendar is 4 x 6.  This gives a bit more room for decorating.  A reminder:  the base is cut to 6 x 12 and scored at 4, 8, 9 3/4, and 11 1/2.  Fold as shown in the photo above.  Putting glue on the 11 1/2 inch scored section.

I used several dies, some of which are almost covered by a flower or a calendar page.  I like bits of dies peeking out like little hidden treasures.  I used embossing folders, and lots of glittered cardstock, which by the way was pretty thick and it cut very well.  A lacy curtain in the window with a tiny lamp made the perfect addition to this beautiful window.  A glittery little butterfly fluttered by and stopped to enjoy.

Here's a closer look.....

Rudolph, Santa and the Elves are off for a long and well deserved nap.  It's time for all the colors of Christmas to be packed away and though I love those colors, I must admit it was fun creating this very pink calendar.

I hope you enjoy handmade calendars and if you'd like a print out of the mini-calendar pages, email me and I'll send you the pdf file.

Until next time.....HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hugs from Me to you,
