The Colors of Spring

2014 The Colors Of Spring

Greeting Fellow Crafters

My post today features several of the new Poppy Stamps dies.  I started by die cutting all the various pieces from solid colored cardstock.  To create the scene I attached the Swirly Curl Border Outline and Background dies together to create a trellis and added the Dianna Border vine with some Hydrangea Blooms. I placed the trellis in front of the fence, added the grass, cat and dog.  Tucked the tree and birdhouse behind the fence and to complete the design added the lovely Delaney Butterfly.

Full many a flower is born to blush unseen... ~Jane Austen

Hello everyone! We're almost at the end of our Blog Blitz and my teamies and I really hope to have given you plenty of ideas! But you still have the opportunity to win one of those fabulous new dies and in this case it will be the Mod Flower Border, which is such a delicately, refined and intricate die. Here's how I used it in my cameo of Jane Austen:

Jane Austen silhouette Poppystamps March 2014 (1)

I first cut out the silhouette of Jane Austen, who happens to be one of my favourite authors, out of sturdy white paper and chalked the edges. The Mod Flower Border serves as a lacey collar or necklace here, since the ladies back then used to wear such pretty laces and I thought this border die would be perfect to mimick just that. I created the background by inking up some Memory Box texture stencils, but I first printed some quotes on my paper. I then added liquid pearls all around the edge. Are you able to resist this beautiful die? No? Then please leave your comment on this post and who knows you may find yourself the lucky winner of this gorgeous border die! ;-) Good luck!

Welcome Spring!

Spring is Here!

Poppystamps Blogblitz#2

Welcome to the Poppystamps Blog Blitz!. Lezlye here with a fun card! I wanted to make a card to celabrate spring. I used and embossing folder to add a woodgrain texture to my brown cardstock. My woodland fawn was cut twice and foam mounted. I added some brown spots to the deer with distress markers and a white tail with a gel pen. dots for eyes and nose. Don't be afraid to alter or add things to your die cut images for added intrest. My sentiment is computer generated and placed on a cardstock banner. The flowers are from the brighton flower border, I used the fresh grass die and 3 cuts of the Dianna border. Leave a comment on this post for a chance to win the Dianna Border die.

Spring Delight

Welcome back to the Poppystamps Blog Blitz celebrating the new Spring Release. I'm sharing a card featuring several of the new Poppystamps dies.

SpringTulips

For my card, I cut the Tulip Fanfare twice - once in green cardstock and again in red. I trimmed the red tulips off and adhered them with dimensional adhesive to the green stems. I played with perspective a bit with the "larger than life" butterflies in the blue sky.

We're previewing all the new Poppystamps dies on the blog from March 14 to March 28. With each post, there will be a prize offered. I'm offering the prize of the Samirah Butterfly. Just leave a comment to be entered to win. You must leave a comment by April 3 on this post or the other "blog blitz" posts to be entered to win the prizes.

You are my Sunshine!

You are my sunshine

Spring has sprung!  Believe it or not there is some evidence of that fact!  My card today proves that :)  I am using the Groovy Flower die from Poppystamps that's part of the new Spring Release!   I also used the Delaney Butterfly and the Fresh Cut Grass dies, also part of the Spring Release.  I used the negative image of the Groovy Flower die and attached a variety of colourful paper in between the orange layer and the top layer.

I grew up in the 60's and the Groovy Flower die reminded me of the days when girls wore their hair long, straight and parted down the middle (me included).  Where long dresses (and short) dresses were the style and flowers were everywhere!  I had to smile while creating this card because it brought back so many memories for me.

There's still time to leave comments for your chance to win some of the new dies.  My prize is the Groovy Flower.  All you have to do is leave a comment on each blog post.  The actual blog blitz ends on March 28th but you will have until April 3rd to leave your comments.  The winners will be announced on April 7th.  All it takes is a moment to enjoy the blog postings showcasing the new dies and a few words in the comment fields!  So grab your "groovy flip flops," a cup of tea and "surf" the posts.  Good luck to all!

From Our House To Yours

Brevilla-Houses-3-25-2014

This card was so easy to make.  And as the Holidays grow near, pretty and easy are what I always want.  The Sentiment was made using my computer and the Word program.  I cut the top sentiment and raised it using pop dots.  I layered everything over a piece of blue cardstock that I put dot of glue and sprinkled glitter over them.  I die cut the Brevilla Houses and cut another using blue and another using red cardstock.  My windows were cut using yellow cardstock and the windows and were glued in place.  I made sure both doors were creased so they would remain open.  Then glitter was added to the roof line.  The mini fence was placed in front of the houses and I layered torn paper to replicate mounds of snow which also had glitter added.  Another computer generated sentiment and this card was finished.  The inside was left plain as I wanted room to write a Christmas note.

It's never too early to start making Christmas cards and I'm happy to have another card created and waiting for the holidays.

Happy 9 months til Christmas!

Glitter and Pink

Card-2-OutsideI was trying to think of something that would say Spring, Pastel, and Glam.  When I think Spring, I think of all the beautiful floral colors and my favorite is pink.  I also think of soft, which makes me think of pink and then I think sparkle and glam, which of course makes me think of GLITTER!

I was cruising the internet and I saw a card that used a background die at an angle.  What a great idea for the Mod Flower Background die.  But....angle was not enough, I wanted glitter, so..... I die cut the Mod Flower Background and I ran a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of plain card stock through a sticker maker.  I carefully put the Mod Flower Background over the now sticker paper and poured glitter over the entire piece.  Pretty easy and does it sparkle.  You can see what I did next, so I don't think I need to explain.  I then die cut the Samirah Butterfly.  If you've followed me in the past, you know I love using the dots that fall from the butterfly.  This time I used them as centers to the flowers, which I also glued pearls.  A sentiment saying Thank You So Much completes the front of this card.  Now for the inside.....

Card-2-Inside

Using the Mod Flower Border and a frame....and the inside is complete.  This sweet and simple card is ready to post.

You know the Blog Blitz is in full swing....and of course you know there are prizes....so leave a comment and wish for luck and the Mod Flower Border could be yours.
