some bunny

Hi, Sherry E here for PoppyStamps and today I am sharing a card I created using the new Chocolate Bunny Die.

My card was inspired by a class I am taking called Stenciled.

To get the bunny die to POP a little bit I die cut 5 of them and glued them together. I also used one of the new Memory Box stencils to add a little bit of fun to the background of my card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card.

Year of the Horse

Happy New Year! What a better way to usher in 2014, the Year of the Horse, than with the Poppystamps dies and the new Memory Box stencils? I cut the Trotting Pony and the Berry Sprig in a rich black, and added a pop dot to the horse, in order to make him pop out against the intricate pattern of the Flourish stencil, part of the new release from Memory Box. I can't tell you how much fun I've had creating patterns and textures with these new stencils!

I used the Flourish stencil with a combination of Colorbox Cranberry Ink and Brilliance Archival pigment ink in Galaxy Gold. The trick is to really super saturate your stencil and paper with color using a sponge dauber, carefully working it into the beautifully detailed corners and swirls. Then I removed the stencil and tape and covered the fresh ink with a thick layer of clear embossing powder and a heat gun. The result is a thick, raised, glossy texture that looks and feels so rich and lush. I thought it would be a beautiful background to my black horse silhouette.

May your 2014 bring you all good fortune! And for all of you born under the lucky sign of the horse, like me, may your wild spirit and strength guide you far!

Live your life in color!

Happy Day card

Chunyuan here today to share another of my cards with you.

I dry embossed Poppy Stamp Heart background die to create the background. Then I cut Poppy Stamp Happy Birthday die several times using glitter card stocks and selected the large HAPPY and DAY from birthday as the sentiment. I punched some circles from the leftover glitter card stock to embellish the card.

Hope you will like it,

Greeting Fellow Crafters

My post today is using the new Memory Box Drifting stencil and my pan pastel chalks.  After adding the various colors to the Butterfly stencil I cut into pieces the Petit Four Border for the corners and added some half pearls for a quick and easy design.  Once you start using stencils you will find so many fun ways to use them in your projects.

Before each show she puts on her nice pink frock, pearls and never forgets to polish her nails! For Minnie The Mooo-cher is a genuine show girl alright! She climbs on her pedestal and dreams of performing in the finest theatres, but for now she will have to make due with my DIY concert hall, LOL! Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage Miss Minnie The Mooo-cher!!

Think Spring!

Hello-Banner-CUHi!  Jeanne here today!  I'd like to interrupt the cold harsh Midwest winter and bring you happy thoughts of Spring!  It's my favorite thing to do on a cold winter day - day dream about warm places and bright colors!  I'm feeling warmer already!
Hello-Banner-CardI squeezed all sorts of dies into this one.  I turned the "Curly Wreath" into a sun, and strung a little banner across the fence to add my sentiment.

Before I hop off I wanted to remind you that today is the last day to leave comments to be entered in the blog blitz give away.  The design team featured new January release dies and stencils on all posts between January 6-19.  There is a give away on every post between those days.  Just leave a comment on each of the posts you'd like to be entered in!  But you have to hurry - you have until midnight tonight!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Chicken Dance

What inspires your creative card ideas? For me, it's anything and everything! On a recent trip across the Midwest, I stopped at a local Amish farmer's store for some delicious Havarti dill and free range chicken eggs. The store was filled with beautiful Amish quilts in black and bold colors, and I knew I would have to use that vivid color combination on something.

I cut the Meso Background out of an embossed sheet of black cardstock, giving it a raised bumpy feel. Then I cut it again in my favorite Amish-inspired colors, blues, greens and purples, and then glued all the tiny shapes into the spaces. It even feels like patchwork! I wanted to create the illusion of an Amish quilt. I tried adding a few different farm animals to the center but the truth is, it just needed a chicken! More like a chicken trio! Thanks to Poppystamps designer Kimberly, who sent me a few Barnyard Roosters in this brilliant white, this country salute to our feathered friends looks great!

You never know when inspiration will turn up! Live your life in color!
