Miss you...

Happy weekend Poppystamps friends! Thanks for coming by the blog to see what's up! We hope you have a wonderful day. Today's card features our cute Suki Sweetheart. I thought she would be perfect for a note for a long distance friend. The sentiment was handwritten in.

The Memory Box Clouds dies are the perfect addition to any scene. They are the perfect scale. I am still loving the new Viola papers!

Spring Kimono

Hello Poppystamps friends! What's new? Dave is headed out later in the week to go to Northern California, to teach classes at The Paper Garden! Are you coming? I'll be there and I'm excited to learn and explore all that Memory Box and Poppystamps can offer. Hope to see some of you there!

Today's card is a Spring Kimono card using the brand new paper colors of Memory Box with some of our beautiful Asian stamps from Poppystamps.

The Kimono was stamped onto one of the patterned papers from the new Viola collection and then cut out and mounted onto the purple layering piece. It all works together so perfectly - the matching colors...

I didn't want the background from the Asian character image so I stamped it onto a scrap of matching paper and carefully cut just around the character. I kind of like this effect...

Have a fabulous week! If you've made anything using our products lately, please feel free to post them over at our facebook page! We love it when you share!

Watercolor Peony Blossoms for Spring

Hi everyone! Did you have a great weekend? Hope so! Today's project features a fun technique of watercoloring with inks. Our Peony Blossom stamp is perfect for this technique! Hope you will give it a try! No special tools required and the results are super fun and unique.

Here's my finished card. Don't you love yellow and pink for Spring? So cheerful!

1 copy

Here is a close up of the Peony Blossoms....

Start off by embossing with white embossing powder onto white paper to make your outline.

Then you take a water pen and fully saturate the paper with water. Then take ink from a re-inker or the top of an ink pad, and start coloring into the water. The water will take the ink and make it flow into different variations of color. For my Peonies I used two shades of pink and one yellow.

Here you can see I took the ink straight from the ink pads...

You don't have to be super careful with your watercoloring, because you will cut out your flowers after they're dry...

I added some glitter glue to the centers and a nice cheery sentiment to complete this card.

Thank you for coming by the Poppystamps blog today!

Easter Greetings from Poppystamps!

Hi there! Only one week until Easter...where is this year going?! We here at Poppystamps wish you and your families a wonderful Spring and happy Spring holidays. I'm sharing one more card using our Grand Egg Die - combined with the beautiful Tessatina Die. Hope you are having fun and enjoying the season...

This egg die is so versatile - you can use it as a plain shape, cut out of patterned paper, or as I've done here, embellished with another die for a design. This one is going to get lots of use over the years!

Lilac and soft green are the perfect colors for Spring projects! The sentiment is part of a larger block stamp...I inked just the top part of it.

Thank you so much for coming by today! Have a fabulous, crafty day!
