Ready for Snow

 

Reindeer Rex is heading outside for the first snowfall, seen here thru the diecut Small Madison Window. The new Snowy Hill cling stamp is great with the window die - and a few glittery diecut Retro Border flurries add some wintry bling.  A quick greeting, diecut with the Memory Box Primo Labels Die, is the finishing touch.  Glitter, Opalescent Clear Embossing Powder and ColorBox Inkpads are from Clearsnap.

I'll leave the color pencilling and watercoloring to experts like Dave and Wanda - I'm just happy to stay inside the lines with my basic markers. I'm hoping Kraft Cardstock, with its natural specks and spots, looks dog-like to you too!

Directions:

• Diecut Small Madison Window from Kraft Cardstock
• Stamp Snowy Hill on white cardstock with Celadon, emboss it wit Opalescent Clear Embossing Powder 
• Trim Snowy Hill to fit behind the window and attach it with foam tape
• Stamp Reindeer Rex on Kraft Cardstock with Black, emboss it with clear powder, and color his scarf with the marker
• Diecut the label with the Primo Labels Die
• Using a stamp positioner, stamp the greeting onto Pool Dots with Black, emboss it with Opalescent Clear Powder, and ink the edges with Mermaid
• Cut a 3-3/4"x 3-1/2" piece of Pool Distressed Dots and ink the edges with Mermaid
• Attach Scor-Tape to a strip of Bayou Cardstock and brush Ocean Spray Glitter onto the adhesive
• Diecut Retro Borders from the glittered cardstock
• Cut, score and fold a A6 (4-5/8" x 6-1/4") card of Bayou Cardstock
• Assemble the card, using foam tape for the greeting
• Coordinate the card with a Cherry or Mars Shimmer A6 Envelope

Holiday Birdie tweeting by...

Hi Friends! We hope you enjoyed a long holiday weekend with family and friends! Did you shop on Black Friday? Are you still eating leftovers!?

Christmas time is upon us and today we're happy to share some more of our new cling stamps with you in a Christmas card! Today's card uses Holiday Birdie (281C), Merry Christmas (288B) and Berry Branch (287C) along with some pretty papers from Memory Box. Take a look!

That little birdie is too dang cute! He was colored in with colored pencils and the red in his hat was made to match the awesome gingham paper from Memory Box. We gave him a little line of glitter to stand on...and some glitter in his hat. Even though it wasn't used on this card, there is a matching die to this stamp!

The berry branch stamp was stamped at an angle on the right side and then once again on the left side to make a canopy for Mr. Birdie.

 

Glittery stickles were used to make some snow falling down from above. A bit of olive green was penciled along the branch lines to add some color.

Silent Night...

Hi everyone! Are you ready for Thanksgiving? We hope you are enjoying a nice week with your family and friends. Today's card takes a different twist on our new stamps and goes more towards the serene and peaceful Christmas tone. We've used the new cling stamp called Snowy Hill (292D) to create a quiet scene in blues and lavender.

The stamp was inked in a light blue pigment ink first and then dabbed with lavender just around the edges. It's very soft - and hard to photograph! This stamp is just so pretty.

 

Here's a close up of the very delicate Savannah Border die (98221) from Memory Box. Isn't this a neat trick? Cut your paper out of the die and then match them up! LOVE this. These Memory Box dies cut so nice and crisp.

 

The papers are - Wisteria solid notecard and paper and Bluebird Distressed dots paper - both from Memory Box!

Happy Penguin!

So, looks like things are in full swing here and we're having fun sharing all the new Poppystamps products with you! Today's card features our cute new Arctic Penguin! He's just so happy...makes you want to smile!

 

The Arctic Penguin was stamped in black ink and colored in with markers. Then it was cut out with the matching die. The background was stamped using the Sparkle Snowflake Background stamp. The blue was added by lightly sponging Versacolor Sky Blue ink with a dauber. Next we took the Tilda Buckle die, which is also brand new, and threaded a strip of paper through the middle. This is a neat trick - you don't always have to use ribbon...paper works great too! Finally...the Let it Snow sentiment was added.

This would be a great card to mass produce for Christmas cards. It's flat for mailing, and the matching die for the penguin make it a snap! Have you checked out the new Poppystamps website yet?

Welcome back to the Poppystamps Blog...we're excited about sharing more new ideas with you! Here's a card introducing more items from the new collection of Poppystamps Dies and Cling Stamps.  

Featured here are Arctic Penguin 283C + matching Arctic Penguin Die 814 - and Anna Snowflake 280D + matching Anna Snowflake Die 811.  Like the Memory Box stamp+die pairs, the dies have special registration dots to align your stamped images for easy, perfect diecutting on the most popular diecut machines.

I've added the Memory Box Pop Up Joy and Frosty Border to this design too - everything's designed to work so well together.  We'll  be using a few brand-new Poppystamps products at the Holiday Express class at the University Village Impress on Sunday, November 30th.

Directions

• Stamp the penguin on white cardstock with Black and emboss it with the clear powder
• Diecut the penguin from scrap paper and keep the negative "frame"
• Place the negative over the stamped image and mark the two registration dots 
• Align the marked dots with the dots on the die and diecut the penguin
• Color his beak and feet with the marker
• Glue Sparkle Fibers to his scarf
• Stamp the snowflake on white cardstock, emboss it with the Sterling Silver powder, and follow the same procedure to diecut it
• Attach Scor Tape to the orange felt and diecut Pop Up Joy and the Anna Snowflake
• Diecut Frosty Border from white cardstock
• Cut a 4.5" x 3.5" piece of Pool Distressed Dots and attach it to a Bayou Notecard
• Assemble the card and coordinate it with a matching Bayou Envelope

Merry Christmas from Poppystamps!

Hi everyone! It's a new season here at the Poppystamps blog! Welcome back and boy, do we have lots of new stuff in store for you! The website has been revamped and redone and it's all ready to go. I hope you will click over and check out all of the new stamps and dies that Dave has made for you. They are so adorable and classy and fun. You will adore this new collection for Winter 2011.

First up here's a card to share using some of the new dies and stamps and the pretty Yuletide Paper Collection from Memory Box:

 

Here's a close-up of the so so cute Snowtime Fun cling stamp! Colored in with Copic Markers and then die-cut with the matching die. Doesn't get any better than this. Some Diamond Stickles finsih off the card. The full supply list is at the bottom of the post.

To add depth, the 'snow' layer was popped up on some foam tape. The Pine Tree Border die was cut and then snipped into pieces to fit the shape of the snow. Don't be afraid to cut pieces of your die shapes to fit your projects. They are so versatile.
