Pile of Snowballs

We were thinking about snow the other day - and all the fun of a good snowball fight! Remember stacking up snowballs, throwing them in the backyard and then going inside to warm up with some hot cocoa?

The snowball stickers (available from Impress) give some fun dimension to a greeting card and sparkle like freshly packed snow. We stamped Reindeer Rex on Kraft paper and cut him out, then mounted his body onto a Memory Box patterned paper background (from Spiceberry 6x6). We stamped Reindeer Rex again on striped paper (again from the Spiceberry 6x6 pack) and cut out the scarf to mount onto his neck.

Put a little snowball near his paw and it's almost like he's nudging it into the pile!

Ribbon Scarf

Wrap up one of the pups in a ribbon scarf! This little embellishment uses just a tiny bit of ribbon and adds a bit of dimension to the card. We stamped Reindeer Rex (231C) on white cardstock and also on a sheet of patterned paper from our 6x6 Cedar and Snow paper pack.

Cut out the rex image from the white cardstock (shade the bottom of him with a little bit of Copic Marker in Frost Blue) and wrap ribbon around his neck. Once the ribbon is tied and glued onto the cut-out, mount this onto the patterned paper. A little bit of velvety ribbon, some more patterned paper and a Meadow colored notecard - and you have Rex running across the greeting with the ribbon scarf flowing behind! Another detail - add a red rhinestone to his nose!

Calendar Pages

Our friend Shari, the store and website manager at Impress Rubber Stamps, is teaching a Make Your Own Calendar class at Impress, featuring the Poppies! All of the months are decorated using poppystamps, plus other stamps and embellishments. She sent us a calendar that she made, which is now gracing one of our desks (the desks are available from Impress). Here are a couple of the layouts that she did:

The tree in the background is Memory Box E1125 Bare Tree, with a little Autumn Flower Soft sprinkled at the bottom. Bobby Bird (216C) and Running Pup (232B) are playing in the fall leaves.

The Large Kitty (228C) makes a scary Halloween cat, especially with eyes that glow from a pastel gel pen! Fiona Faerie (219C) was stamped on purple polkadot paper for a fun "costume". The branch image that they are sitting on is from Savvy, a great spooky image for the look of the design!

Ideas from Alaska!

Cara, who works at the Stamp Attic in Anchorage, Alaska has been having some fun with the poppystamps! Betty, who owns the store, forwarded some pictures of some recent creations that Cara has on display at the store.

We haven't thought of giving the dog spots yet!

Fun and festive - thanks for sharing Cara!
